They were pretty popular as a companion for a space grey laptop. ~1/4 the rate of the white mouse overall - in my experience.
They're probably still available as a service part - as they were originally, back when you had to prove you had an iMac pro first. The "Geniuses" might frown on selling them that way, but your local independent shouldn't have a problem.
I kind of wish I had bought a set while they existed. But I don't have a new machine for them to go with. I just figured the nice looking hardware would disappear soon.

I'm not sure what the right context is. You're mocking him for not liking the computer but liking the accessories? I'm not sure what there is to mock, that's totally reasonable. I don't like Windows but Microsoft make some nice mice.
