Apple Watch Series 7 preorders have begun, starting at $399
The online Apple Store is now taking preorders for the Apple Watch Series 7, with early orders arriving on October 15.
Apple Watch Series 7
Apple's website on Friday began accepting preorders for the Apple Watch Series 7, which was announced at the company's "California Streaming" event in September. Unusually, a release date was not revealed at that launch.
It's possible that delayed date announcement was due to rumored production shortages. Those same rumors are also saying that the new Apple Watch will be in short supply, though that is also traditionally the case every year.
There's no sign of the Watch being constrained to an initial round of countries and territories, either. Apple has confirmed that the preorders are available in over 60 countries.
Unlike the iPhone 13 range, Apple did not provide a way to pick an Apple Watch and have it ready to checkout as preorders started. The company also did not initially announce any pricing beyond the $399 starting price for the smaller, 41mm model in aluminium.
Now, however, all prices for the Apple Watch Series 7 are on the store. They match predictions, and are the same as for the previous Apple Watch Series 6.
Apple Watch Series 7 starts at $399 for the 41mm non-cellular aluminium version, and $499 for the same size with cellular. The 45mm edition starts at $429, and from $529 with cellular.
Apple Watch Series 7 comes in two models, both of which are larger than their predecessors in the Apple Watch Series 6. As well as the 41mm version, up from 40mm, there is now a 45mm version.
Both of the new Watches remain compatible with previous Watch bands, and Apple has also released very many new ones.

Apple no longer offers a simple solid color band like we are all 13 year olds or something.
I guess I will be keeping my series 5 watch band I have worn since Apple had the same ugly blue stripe on the black band last year with the series 6. The 6 is going to my GF - upgrading her from a FitBit.
I ordered in first 20 minutes and my delivery is estimated to be first week of November.
I had to order that and add product red sport strap for the Mrs. Not ideal for sure, especially when the braid isn't cheap, and it seems to stretch over the year from the reviews I have seen.
I had similar where I wanted the Blue Aluminum, but it wasn't showing in the pre built ( i didn't want the canvas strap), so pulled the trigger on Midnight pre built. Was able to go through the studio to get the Blue... So will be instantly returning the other when I do the pick up. I get the sense there are less Red and Blue models available on the initial release.
Kinda wish they had put up some pricing and band combos ahead so I could shop at a little more of a leisurely pace...and I might have pondered the 2x deal for $200 off had I known about it in advance. Not the best roll out I've seen, but I got what I wanted.
I ordered a series 7 a few hours ago (Midnight black aluminum w/black band) and shipping was estimated to be the first week in November.
If you have an iPhone 12 or 13 or recent iPad likely you have the plug, but yes thats another $25 CAD to add in if you don't
