The online Apple Store is now taking preorders for the Apple Watch Series 7, with early orders arriving on October 15.

Apple's website on Friday began accepting preorders for the Apple Watch Series 7, which was announced at the company's "California Streaming" event in September. Unusually, a release date was not revealed at that launch.

It's possible that delayed date announcement was due to rumored production shortages. Those same rumors are also saying that the new Apple Watch will be in short supply, though that is also traditionally the case every year.

There's no sign of the Watch being constrained to an initial round of countries and territories, either. Apple has confirmed that the preorders are available in over 60 countries.

Unlike the iPhone 13 range, Apple did not provide a way to pick an Apple Watch and have it ready to checkout as preorders started. The company also did not initially announce any pricing beyond the $399 starting price for the smaller, 41mm model in aluminium.

Now, however, all prices for the Apple Watch Series 7 are on the store. They match predictions, and are the same as for the previous Apple Watch Series 6.

Apple Watch Series 7 starts at $399 for the 41mm non-cellular aluminium version, and $499 for the same size with cellular. The 45mm edition starts at $429, and from $529 with cellular.

Apple Watch Series 7 comes in two models, both of which are larger than their predecessors in the Apple Watch Series 6. As well as the 41mm version, up from 40mm, there is now a 45mm version.

Both of the new Watches remain compatible with previous Watch bands, and Apple has also released very many new ones.

Ok, I guess everything went well. I ordered the large graphite SS model with LTE and black band, and it’s due to deliver October 15.

Finished ordering the 45mm silver stainless steel model 10 minutes after the Apple Store reopened and already the delivery date slipped to the first week in November.

You should clarify your article - not ALL Watches are available on the launch date of 10/15. Any Titanium model is automatically at November 2-9 and I selected the instant the page refreshed. Disappointing, but oh well.

Unfortunately the Midnight Aluminum only comes with the sport band (but in many colors). I have too much of that style already… but I really prefer the black watch. I was hoping for a Solo Loop, Braided Solo Loop, and Leather Link option to come with the device. Those options are available with other aluminum colors though.

Oh well I’m still happy mine comes 10.15!

Black 41mm Aluminum WiFi with the black (with a garish blue stripe- ugh) band.

Apple no longer offers a simple solid color band like we are all 13 year olds or something.

I guess I will be keeping my series 5 watch band I have worn since Apple had the same ugly blue stripe on the black band last year with the series 6. The 6 is going to my GF - upgrading her from a FitBit.

@tpurdy not if you use the Apple Watch Studio, but it does push delivery to early Nov. Alternative is you buy a pre built combo and then add extra strap, but yes more $

This also irked me. I later built a Titanium Watch via the Studio and it was $50 less. I later found out in my own pre-order for the Titanium which I had to choose from what Apple pre-built their pages with that a gray Sport Band also comes with the Red Braided Loop I selected. Extremely sneaky on Apple’s part, so I’ll be returning or selling that Watch Band…

I tried to use the Studio to design an Aluminum Product Red with a different band.  But in the Studio there were only three red choices. I end up getting the red braided loop, but wanted a different color.  So I had to add an extra band for more $.

I ordered in first 20 minutes and my delivery is estimated to be first week of November.

I had to order that and add product red sport strap for the Mrs.   Not ideal for sure, especially when the braid isn't cheap, and it seems to stretch over the year from the reviews I have seen.

I had similar where I wanted the Blue Aluminum, but it wasn't showing in the pre built ( i didn't want the canvas strap), so pulled the trigger on Midnight pre built.  Was able to go through the studio to get the Blue...  So will be instantly returning the other when I do the pick up.  I get the sense there are less Red and Blue models available on the initial release.

AW7 41mm in blue al you MIN ee um and a Abyss sport loop. Order placed about 5m after it went live, promises delivery 10/15.

Kinda wish they had put up some pricing and band combos ahead so I could shop at a little more of a leisurely pace...and I might have pondered the 2x deal for $200 off had I known about it in advance. Not the best roll out I've seen, but I got what I wanted.

Not really sneaky, at all. They’ve always given that extra band with the Titanium models. You should have done better research beforehand.

Apple's website doesn't mention the series 6. Seems like they have discontinued it! I was hoping that its price will come down after Series 7 launch lol.

There wasn't a whole lot of difference between series 6 and 7. I'm sure they thought series 6 would eat into 7's sales if they kept it at a reduced price point.

I ordered a series 7 a few hours ago (Midnight black aluminum w/black band) and shipping was estimated to be the first week in November.

I was curious how short the supply was so I tried setting up an order and guess what? The one I picked (44mm basic all black aluminum with cellular) was not available at all. The store has reverted back to its you can't buy yet this mode.

Wow. It doesn't even come with a charger. If you are a new Apple Watch owner and order one of these, you will be stuck with a dead Apple Watch until you can go out and buy one. Super cheap thing to do. Even a basic Android watch comes with a charger.

It says a USB-C charging cable is in the box. What is not included is a wall plug with a USB-C port on it.

If you have an iPhone 12 or 13 or recent iPad likely you have the plug, but yes thats another $25 CAD to add in if you don't
