However, I challange anyone on this forum to prove me wrong

reminds me of this homeless guy i used to walk by every day. he'd sit there and talk about mind control drugs in the water, evesdropping through the V-chip etc. that was a favorite line of his too. "I'm right, and you can't prove otherwise"

of course, it had to beg the question, do you really need to prove he's wrong, or just lump him in as another nut job on a bender.

Yea but alcimedes I'm not a crazy homeless guy. I'm a guy who lives in a country that have bomb shelters built into every building. Men are obligated to serve the military between the ages 18 - 30. They have regular air raid siren tests. Every man, women and child has an assigned place in a underground bunker. This country is one of the wealthiest in the world. Their like this because of the lessons they learned through out history, nothing lasts forever. So you go ahead and brush off that homeless guy off as another nut, but when the @#$% hits the fan he will be the richest guy around because he knows how to survive on nothing. The way that drunk driving, AWOL from the National Guard, falsely inaugurated President is running things, it won't be long......

Well if I'm anti war I must be anti Bush. Nick are you for war, your post defiantly shows that. I also liked your linky about how France and Germany are in financial ruins and the US is only going through a little speed bumped when it comes to finances. So the word trillions in debt means nothing to you.

Ah screw it, this is Mac forum. What do I know about politics anyway, in fact I'm for war now. I mean who am I to argue against our governments. I live in a lap of luxury, I have a Mac, cars, 2 houses, great kids, steaks on a regular bases and an Xbox. Without the US invading countries and bombing the crap out of people for oil I might be inconvenience and I would hate that. I just hope that none of you have friends or family in Iraq dying for the glory of the empire.

I have heard this "we print out more money all backed by oil" thing quite a few times on this board and have never seen any backing at all for that assertion.

Am I just supposed to assume it's fact?

I've also heard that well over 90% of the deficit is owed to US taxpayers.

And did you people not notice how currency experts debunked the "this war will make the dollar stronger" myth right at the beginning of the freaking article?

Now, I try not to pay too much attention to economics, but this link shows me that the U.S. should be worried.

I know the dollar is falling against the Euro. That said, if the two biggest economies in the E.U. are doing poorly, and the dollar is falling against their currencies, this linky shows me that the U.S. economy is doing worse than that of the E.U. and France & Germany specifically.

Do we have the numbers on the decifits & GDP? The linky didn't show them.

"I've heard so many stated reasons why we are at war with Iraq and the whole thing is getting less clear cut as each day passes"

That's not surprising SJO: you are a conspiracy whore. If I didn't have any kind of ability to judge what is and is not a credible theory my head would be spinning too.

The justifiable reason is that Saddam has broken UN resolution 1441, and has been in defiance of the international community since Gulf War I ended. The UN Security Counsil has no balls to back up its own statutes, which puts to question its legitimacy altogether, so if we don't act who will? That and the fact that our administration has evidence of Iraq's dealings with terrorists, possibly WMDs, which directly puts our nation in imminent danger. What more reason do you need?

I dunno, I'm kinda in the 'why not' crowd. So far the war has boosted my spirits and is giving our troops a good work out. If they happen to off an evil dictator, hey, then that's a freebie!

DanMacMan from Michigan, so that gives the right to the US to invade another country? Plus the fact that Iraq has the second largest oil reserve means nothing? What about North Korea, no wait we can't do that all they have is snow! Come on, you got to stop watching CNN, I haven't seen a dog and pony show like this since Bush won in Florida. I'm not saying my theory is right but we are not in their because they have weapons of mass destruction. Well if they do I'm 100% sure the US is holding the bill of sale.

I don't follow you... so if a country we go to war with happens to have a decent export (or something we need) we cannot attack them or we are going to pirate away their wealth? Hum... if this is the case, why haven't we been running Iraq for years? And why not any of the South American countries? And why not the diamond producing african nations? Hell, why not cuba for their cigars? Lets get real. You can't play the 'oil war' game. It just isn't *that* reasonable. To answer you, it DOES mean nothing that they have that oil reserve. You think for a single second that somehow we are gonna get reduced cost of oil out of this? If you haven't noticed... gas prices are UP!

The United States has no legal authority to enforce its own versions of U.N. Resolutions without U.N. backing.

If there was or is evidence of a terrorist connection, show it. If you can't show it, you can't use it as a basis for an argument.

You're welcome pscates, for the 1st grade level response necessary to debunk that post. I would have thought you could handle that yourself.
