Gee Barto "How the F*** am I supposed to purchase an unreleased CD?"

Thats the point- someone has stolen it. It's not finished.Radiohead are very unhappy about this, so is Nigel Godrich. I wasn't trolling, calm down .

"why should I have to buy CDs"- yeah why should i have buy software or food or anything?

P.S I said i was a starving musician didn't i but what has that got to do with it? if you rip off the people who make the records, including the engineers and producers , how are they going to get fat and lazy?

Read the article. Gain an insight. And please, for the love of god, please don't equate duplicating virtual works with theft. No-one has stolen anything.

It's not finished. I'm not judging it as finished. Therefore I'm a theif.

Because I can make them myself? The physical product is mine. Copyright and patents are a devices to encourage the innovation of new works, not force anyone to buy from someone who may or may not have "invented" the work. That's a by-product of paid-off government.

You mentioned it. You obviously believe you have a right to money from anyone who uses (or possibly be inspired or benefit from... I can't speak for you) your work.

I'm not depriving them of their work if I copy. I'm making copies for myself for one reason or another. No-one chooses the time they are born into. They just have to make the best of it. I'm sorry if people don't get born into a magical licensing merry-go-round where nothing really new gets produced and we all die.

Thanks for the charming first link Barto. The second one I will finish reading sometime before my death. This conversation is now over, unless you want to keep talking to yourself like you have been.

You insulted me, I insulted you.

The conversation was started by you after you insulted me. I've defended myself. Could you please explain how I've been talking to myself? If it is because you have ignored me, then you are open, non-judgemental and intellegent.

If I limit myself to CDs that I actually own and listen to repeatedly (most of my record collection is on vinyl and most of my listening is done with iTunes)...

Kruder & Dorfmeister - DJ Kicks (mix CD)

John Zorn's Naked City - Torture Garden

    The Fall - Grotesque

    much better than DSOTM.

I'm willing to give it a try. I've never really taken the time to listen to it, which accounts for something. Nor am I of the age to have known them during the seventies. I have it here, on the other hand, and I have listened to the first song (which is very much ripped in the score of the movie The Warriors) and the second song. It is immediately striking how the album starts of rocking more than either WYWH and DSOTM ever do.
