MacWorld Paris Skinny
What do you suppose will be announced there, if anything?
Myself, I can't see Steve going over there just to announce new iApps. That seems like a total waste of time and money, in my opinion. The fact that he's keynoting Paris means there will be a hardware announcement of some sort.
My guess would be revamped PowerBooks. Whether they're totally new (new enclosure), or bumped to the 1GHz mark, I don't know. I bet it is this. It was discussed in a major news article awhile back if you recall -- the spotting of 1GHz PowerBook prototypes with 64MB video...they said you'd have to wait until the fall...well Sept is here.
It would be nice if they lowered prices on the displays and added a 17-inch widescreen model, like the high-end iMac.
So what's your take on what will happen?
Remember, MW Paris is about two weeks away!

no! don't hit me in the eyes! no! ahhhhhh!
2. New wardrobe for Steve (it is Paris after all.)
Next question....
So when is the last time that happened?
It's two years since he was last in europe, and that time I believe Apple released the Keylime ibook...

Then before the holidays, There will be room for the iBook to go to 800/900MHz. (but not before the iMac makes the jump to 1GHz).
Sept 10 2002, Paris:
"...Oh yes there is one thing more. You know there is this one guy who ordered the edu version of Mac OS Jagwire almost a month ago and haven´t recieved it yet. So its a pleasure for me to invite Anders from Denmark on stage to recieve his long awaited copy of Jagwire. Here you go Anders."
***Anders take the box and punchs his fist against Jobs face***
"Thank you Jobs. The pleasure is all mine"
Worst case senario:
Sept 10 2003, Paris...
strong possibility(or maybe just my hopes): Small upgrade to powerbooks(bluetooth. . .speedbump. . .) And a hundred dollars off on all iMacs and iBooks in prepiration for the well needed speed bumps.

If he announced "hundred dollars" off everything there would be about 5 min's of silence as everyone calculates the amount in Euros it is in Paris after all.
If all he was going to do was his 'Jag'wire' show & tell he would have done it by Sat Link form the US. If he just does that I bet most people would just leave, It would be the 3rd time he had done it.
I wood have been still weighting for my Jag from Amazon (predicted shop date Aug 30th), but I decided to go out on Saturday and pick up a copy (and cancel my Amazon order)

There will be no new computer hardware but I suspect some new displays will be introduced. That's all.

Which was a GSM phone (and a 900/1800/1900 phone if I remember correctly)
