    It seems like a smaller Mini could use a small external power supply that connects via USB/Thunderbolt.
    As long as it has a decent number of wired connections and can be BTO with the Pro variant of the M4, it is good for my needs.

    My guess is that replacing the metal case with plastic is the major advantage for Apple.

    That's how my mini is mounted on my desk, with ports across the front of the device.
