I don't mind them, it's just the fact that all the other buttons don't even remotely match that I object to.
Tell you what, let's play a game: everyone using Safari, make sure you've got the Address Bar turned on with the Back/Forward and Reload buttons enabled, then look up to the top left corner of the window, just under the window widgets. Stare at those three buttons for about 3 minutes.
Now open iTunes 4 and repeat the procedure.
Now open iMovie 3 and look at the three big round things just under the middle of the playback panel.
Now tell me: what do these three apps have in common?
haha i'm on a PC right now and dont have iMovies because i deleted it...what do they have on common haha
Okay, the proper answer (just wanted you to sweat a little there), is these are all Cocoaficated iApps: iPhoto 2 shows much the same style for its major control buttons.
Oh, and some ugly ones that don't match in the corner... I think I spy a trend here...

whew, i was sweating alright!
haha yeah i noticed the trend but couldn't verify without knowing how iMovie looked!
(god forbid i should try and find a pic from the apple site)
man that would be sweet to be able to have all the mp3z on my pc from my mac downstairs!
DAMMIT, are you saying its not possible!?
why can't itunes use shoutcast/icecast to stream the files? before i get angry, does anyone know if itunes uses *cast? anyone in the short time itunes4 has been available, hacked at it to figure out the protocol and port number, so i can listen to my beautiful music no matter what kind of computer i'm on? why have all my sentences been questions?

i have no idea if its possible, i would hope it is but who knows, i was just saying i would liek to do that too
perhaps the price u pay for using a PC though i guess\
I dont mind the new shallow button scheme. i'm sure there's something "better", but the older gumdrop buttons seem "cutesy" in comparison. Cute wittle my pretty pony buttons. Pffft. I liked em at one time but I'm over them now :P
What Apple really needs to do is give us some damn Apple approved OS themes. Shallow buttons, gumdrop buttons yada yada.
Actually I think the shallow buttons are just to help differentiate the brushed metal interface. I don't see them migrating to the OS just yet?
As for iTunes 4 sucking? Just because the complaining poster doesn't use all the new features doesn't mean it sucks. Plenty of people will use them. Also I think calling it iTunes 4 alleviates any confusion people would have with regards to being able to use the new music service. "what? I HAVE iTunes 3 dammit! Huh? I need 3.02? But I have 3!? what? This one goes to 11!"
The thing is, I can do all that Apple has innovated in the past 2 years with my 3 year old iMac. No new hardware needed.
That is a really good point. I once came to realize that, as a Windows user, you're pretty much stuck with the OS version that came with your computer. When I leaped from Win 3.1 to 95, the computer performance really dropped. Hardware incompatibilities jumping from Win98 to Win2000. Same happened when I switched from Win2000 to WinXP. It was so bad that I got to the point of going back to 2000. The problem is not that noticeable in desktop PCs because of expandability, but with laptops you can't do much more than adding extra RAM. My mac is a dream computer, really.

Bzzzt! Wrong answer!
and i think that the music service and rendezvous/ip sharing is enough of an improvement to warrant a full number release.
by the by, how does one connect to one's own personal shared music, by the by? for example, if one was on a peecee?
