Someone should ask the people at the Apple Store why the keyboard is different in those pictures as the stores. It would be interesting to hear what they have to say.
Ha! It is obviously a mock-up, even the above photos. They are just Photoshop hacks.
Notice in the first photo the two guys in the bottom right are within arms length of the woman behind them. Obvously they are far too geeky to get within 10 feet of a woman...
...and with regards to the second photo I have spent the last 4 hours reconstructing the scene with 3D modeling software and I can prove that the guy in the Hawaiian shirt could not possibly be staring at the bald man at the printer!
And besides the banner itself shows an Airport Basestation that is at least 3 feet wide. Even Airport Extreme wouldn't need it that big.
Just a sloppy PS hack.
Now folks, THAT was a damn funny post. I laughed out loud, cackling even...and I only do that 6-8 times a year, so...
Actually, guys, we're just seeing one side of this thing. It's Apple, for crying out loud. How do we know that there isn't some cool little pop-out or "rising" device located in the center. Or some other ultra-cool, "why has no one else thought of this?!?!" device that makes this keyboard just as adjustable - if not MORE so - than their current one?

I'd be curious to know, too.
...if the poster's even still up there. But it's something a lot of people (except for OCD Macheads) wouldn't notice. Is there any chance it's a third-party keyboard? Still could be just an addition to the offering -- as in, "now you can get a bluetooth keyboard, but if you want the old one for connectivity's sake, then it's still here."
Apple's original AirPort base stations were the grey, graphite color. At some point during the first year, the banners in the stores were changed, including the one in the "etc" section. Those of us in the store never noticed until after the fact that the new banner showed a "snow" base station BEFORE it was announced or released. Apple took a chance (or didn't care) that the slight difference would not be noticed. They were right.
As a point of information, and as an eyewitness, the new "etc" section banner DOES show this mystery keyboard, along with other Apple and third-party devices.
Well, it defenitally looks like an Apple design. I am going to be nit-picky, and ask why there is a break in the plastic in the bottom left corner of this pictures: HMM>?>>

agreed, who is going to do this? Placebo, I am looking at you duder,
I know this seems unlikely because if not someone would have probably spotted it by now, but is it just possible that the keyboard pictured is one manufactured by another company as a third party peripheral? I mean the poster doesn't just show Apple products it has stuff by other companies too.

Possible, but I have not seen any keyboard like it though.

It's only a screw hole or some hole from the molding process.
Possible, but I have not seen any keyboard like it though.
Yes, it is just a thought seeing as there is nothing to imply that all the products pictured are Apple designed/made.
But when I think about it most of the other brand products pictured are products that Apple doesn't make in-house anyway and so are not a direct competitor to Apple (for example digital cameras, video cameras).
Mind you... there is a picture of an alternative mouse... so you never know

i mean, i bet the majority of the people want their keyboard like that (i know i do), but at least give 'em a choice!

Nice catch.
The original "Apple Extended Keyboards" were nice because of their _heft/sturdiness_. Add adjustibility + looks to that.... Nice.

Yes. I really miss my Apple Extended Keyboard. I love the Pro Keyboard, but it's not as good as the old beast.
That thing had better be adjustable, though. I like my keyboard flat, and I'm not going to kill my wrists just to have a pretty Apple keyboard.

after seeing this, it seems like this is the same banner that has been up for quite a while, and somebody is just catching it now.
i wouldn't make too much of this.

Is that a new mouse or is it just me?

It definitely looks shorter. The finger things to pick it up are much closer to the front and the whole thing is shorter.
It could be that they just shrunk the image horizontally.
