The sell them on the online store where you can't return them.

Haha, I didn't even get past the word 'am' before I knew where it was going.

I too would like to see the official word on this from Apple themselves.

Not doubting that a manager in a store may make an exception, but all I've ever seen is the aforementioned kbase document.

I mean, someone could come on here and say, Apple extends the iPod warranty to two years, because they got their out of warranty ipod serviced/replaced. But, that doesn't mean Apple changed its policy.

Like anything else that is returned, if it is not doa, or otherwise in need of repair, they re-sell it in the store as "open box" for 10% off.

I see a "dot". Not even a "Removed at the request of Apple Legal"

so what is the change in the dead pixel policy? i am pricing out lcd's these days, and formac is coming out on top. they're cheaper, have a longer warranty, and are only allowed something like 2 dead pixels. plus, almost all of them are a higher pixel-per-inch density than apple's offerings. my only misgivings about formac is how they screwed over many owners of their proformance3 cards, by telling them they would make os x drivers, and then saying "ah, never mind." i'm not even sure they offered any discount on future products or anything. i just remember a LOT of people being downright pissed.

Is this in effect for notebooks? Because my newly-purchased PB12 has a relatively inconspicuous dead pixel (of a purifying, if slightly annoying, blue shade).
