I did read the thread. What's the point? I can take a blurry picture of a Pepsi can and say its the new iCam and you will believe it. Its scarry. Can't say whether its real or fake because I don't know what the hell it is. Nothing to see here. Move along.

What? For an impartial observer you sure seem to be defending it an awful lot. Perhaps you are the author? Its such a bad picture, maybe intentionally so. I see by the file name that a bigger version was made. Post that one and maybe it will give me an idea as to what it is. By the way, the comments over at SpyMac where the picture originated suggest its fake.
I vote that its REAL. As in a real object, is it a working "PowerPod"? Who knows. Without video of it working or images with something on the screen its hard to say one way or another.
One thing to keep in mind. Apple has a track record of producing things that when seen out of context makes it hard to tell if its a real product or not. Remember the leaked images of the "Cube". People could not believe that it was a computer. So who's to say that this is anyting like we think it is. But it is a real product, yes. of what who knows?

I just figured out what the first image is. If you look at it from the right angle you can clearly see that it is a can of Sardines. The poster was just smart enough to photoshop the ....sardines and rolled lid away.
I was just looking at it and it hit me....where have I seen this before...hmmm...starving in college and eating ....sardines....ahhh that's where....college. Am I smart or what. I just thought i'd post to enlighten those of you that didn't realize something smelled fishy
IF IT WAS REAL, THEN WHY IS THE PIC STILL UP? SHOULDN'T APPLE HAVE TAKEN IT DOWN BY NOW? <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" /> <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" /> <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

but, suriously, if the pic was true, it would be gone by now by the forces of la Manzana! <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

I don't know much about Photoshop tricks, so.... instead I'm wondering: how do you control a device like that? Surely a touch screen is not enough? And in that case, either there are controls on the back, or it's a dreamer dreaming....
Real photo, that is. The object in the photo is more than likely not from Apple (i.e. it's a hoax), and if it is genuinely Apple, it's a rough prototype... which may never see the light of day in this incarnation.

But they just put iSync up...
Anyway, I vote it's a REAL picture of something or another, but a FAKE Apple product.
