I have some photos to share. This is the morning after. The ceiling shot shows where the water was pouring from...through those lighting fixtures...
...down onto the cabinets, rug and floor...
Amazingly, my desk and computer stuff were undamaged. At my own risk (ok...stupidity?) I shut off the power (I have a switch box on the opposite end of the room) and unplugged all the cords from the surge protector and tossed them on top of the desk during the flood. But they were next...I can only imagine if I had been away for the weekend...
Well, as far as the job thing...I have an interview with Barnes & Noble for a sales position...if I get it I'll take it. I'll take any job I can survive with in these times...
And another thing for other apartment dwellers...when the water is turned off in your building...leavethefaucetsthe****alone.
dude time to down a six pack and chill out... I know how you feel but not to that extent, I just found a job, but the pay is super sh*t*y, no benefits, no nothing, just a small paycheck... heh times are tough man, its hard to find a good beer ticket lately, but you gotta admit, we're both lucky we have a roof over are heads at all... Best of luck to you bro, good things happen to those that deserve it, bad things happen to everyone...
Yeah, times are tough, I just had to start a job working in a bookstore - it is actually a decent job, the only two problems are that the pay sucks and I have to work with DOS, but there is one side benefit, tons of hot girls go to bookstores, and not only can I introduce myself to them and strike up a conversation with them, I have to - it is part of the job. Good luck with your design business.
i often think it would be fun to be the leader of a cult for a day.
It is, I know because I've done it, one of the best times I ever had in my life. OK maybe I am exagerating - I wasn't THE leader, but just one of the leaders.

Whaddya think me and my buddies did after we shut the water off? Partied and played Tenchu/Boshido Blade on my Playstation all night. We were going to do this anyway...just the flood delayed the event. I have to offer thanks to my friends who helped me out that night..."represent" 8)
Well good things maybe coming...my business partner has a meeting lined up for a client AND potential investor for the design company and the other partner may have locked in a dozen or more clients...this shit always seem to balance out...
...but I haven't heard a damn thing from the apartment owners since leaving them a messege saturday morning...\
Rick1138...bookstore job? They CAN be cool. I had an interview w/ Barnes and Noble yesterday and it went well. Here's hoping. 'Cause da business is only a business if it runs like one...I need some security job wise...
It's not bad, it's a small store, around 40,000 books, plus toys and gifts. The toys are cool. On any day I meet at least one or two interesting women, so it is worth it.
