    You're getting there slowly, enette, though you have, again, reached for first person plural in an incorrect manner: you should have written 'stop spitting in my face," which I'll say write off the bat, I'm not prepared to do just yet.

    Also, I think economies typically describe the financial toils of a country, which I am not, so I will not be able to get an economy, hence you are making a rather dumb statement. I'm willing to give you, you pooky-faced numbwits, a little more time though. Try again. Remember:

    you != a country

    you != we

    Okay?

    The same point as made by Kopf.

    YOU deserve no respect because you are making a twat of yourself.

    Your country meanwhile will have no peace while it does what it wants when it wants.

    I couldn't care less what you think of me.

    It has no bearing on the reality of microscopic countries with delusions of grandeur who are busily and stupidly trying to shame my country. And way too senseless to do it to any effect.

    This from a microscopic intellect with delusions of grandeur.

    Irony rocks.

    (I know you won't mind me pointing this out as you don't care what I think about you)

    I notice you don't even address the important point; the US lack of peace while it thinks it can do what it wants when it wants.

    Okay?

    Maybe your lawyers could hop on Lexis-Nexis and bring Franks up on charges of felony poor English and criminal mixed metaphors.

    Keep digging that hole guys.

    two words bobsky:

    BITE ME

    ...as for the rest of you wankers, this has gotten personal---now we are criticizing my English and whether or not I have any respect.

    My points stand. Little countries need to be circumspect on who they try to shame. You guys imagine away all that backlash, won?t you?.

    Wrong. All countries, regardless of size or economy, need to be just and honorable in their actions. All countries need to stand up against any country when they act in an unjust or dishonorable fashion.

    The way of life in the United States is based 100% on open and free communication of thoughts and ideas. It's amazing to me that there are any people from the United States that would be dumb enough to curtail that in any sense of the word.

    funny thread.

    What the hell are the charges? I'd love to address this but there is no substance?

    errr. I don't know... still you did something completely different then arguing if they were valid or not. To me the only way to tell me whether this case is right or wrong. It might be wrong you know.. I say this cause I don't know what the charges are, thus, they might be invalid. OTOH If they are valid you could also have a case in your own pretty little country. Or don't you have democracy? Or do you protect your superiors whatever they do?

    How can I argue the merits of a case that hasn't been made? How can I argue evidence that hasn't even been presented?

    The only thing you're left with at that point is to discuss the ability of this court to even bring the issue to the forefront, which it obviously has no authority to do.

    Make a case.

    Provide some substance. Please. I beg of you to provide even a little substance.

    it consists of 17 things.

    A few found (hey, Google is your friend...)

    * The failure to prevent the mass looting of hospitals in Baghdad after the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime.

    * Eyewitness testimony of U.S. troops firing upon an ambulance.

    * The indiscriminate shooting and wounding its driver by U.S. armored vehicles of civilians in Baghdad.

    * The bombing of a marketplace in Baghdad that killed scores of civilians.

    * The attack on a civilian bus with an "energy weapon" in the town of al-Hillah, killing at least 10 passengers.

    * use of cluster bombs

    * not preventing plunderings

    I hear ColanderOfDeath reaching for the 'vegemite sandwich' rap, but that is the way it is, ena

    Traveling in a bombed-out Iraq

    On Fermom's trail, he's on the attack

    I met a strange Iraqi, he made me nervous

    He took me and said **** Texas

    And he said

    "Do you come from a land that's not down under?

    Where women glow and soldiers plunder?

    Can't you hear, can't you hear the B-2's thunder?

    You better run, you better take cover."

    Buying bread from der kopf in Brussels

    He was six foot four and a veteran of AI tussles

    I said, "are you militaristically challenged bitch?"

    He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich

    And he said,

    "I come from a land not down under

    Where weed does flow and men chunder

    Did you hear, Did you hear about our diplomatic blunder?

    You better run, you better take cover."

    Lying in a jail at The Hague

    With a slack jaw from war crimes charges that were kinda vague

    I said to the man, "Are you trying to persecute me

    Because I come from the land where people act unilaterally?"

    And he said,

    "Oh! Do you come from a land not down under? (oh yeah yeah)

    Where women glow and soldiers plunder?

    Did you hear, Did you hear Verhofstadt a dunder(head)?

    You better run, you better take cover."

    Funny

    WHat do you do when you think someone from another country is bullying someone else (but not doing any harm to yourself)? Do you ask your courts to see if your suspicion is right or do you take your guns and shoot your way to him.

    Yes an analogy filled with holes but its my analogy.

    unless of course you disagree with it and/or you don't like the folks who sponser said speech, at which point it's wrong?

    in any case, there is no case here, ena is..... well, ena. (i'll let you all figure out what that means)

    der Koph got in over his head on this thread, and was well on the way to realzing that before ena blustered in blathering about a pile of crap. (note: this is not an insult of any kind der Koph).

    as for the "charges" listed above, i'll say again. is there any evidence of US military POLICY that worked towards some type of genocide/civilian deaths? i'm know there were some, but the real question is were they mistakes?

    they fired on a bus. what was the bus doing? where was it going? did it stop when ordered to? had there been Taliban in the area using civilian vehicles to attack from?

    all questions w/o answers at this point.

    if we'd decided to level Bahgdad, that'd be one thing. 3 bombs in civilian areas, one of which (the marketplace) is from an unknown source? i'm sorry, but that doesn't count as war crimes in my book.

    None taken. I'm happy to say that some of the reactions here have actually, for once, changed my opinion, maybe principally because I hadn't exactly formed one, but still. Change IS still possible in myself, and maybe in the rest of youns also.

    An Israeli general now also been charged with genocide in a Belgium court under this absurd law. Even more absurd, the court has apparently decided that Israel is not a democracy with a functioning judicial system. I bet a lot of Israelis would be surprised to hear that.

    Of course, far be it from me to offer even the hint of a suggestion of anti-semitism or anti-Israel bias here. But the law was recently amended, in an attempt to appease the US, so that cases could be dismissed on a case-by-case basis if the defendant was from a country with a functioning democracy and judicial system. The US qualifies, but Israel doesn't? Give me a break. I'm glad the US is still pressuring them to drop this absurdity completely. Belgium does not rule the world, and apparently even has a hard time seeing a democracy. The Freedom House in 2000 gave Israel a score of "1,2 Free" for political freedom and civil liberites - notably, the exact same score as Belgium and France.
