I have heard rumor of a new Batman movie sometime in the next few years. I can't remember wher I heard this, but I remember the person saying it would be a rethinking, something darker. It might be Tim Burton again. I really wish I could remember where I heard this rumor. IMDb doesn't have anything on it yet, and they usually put in an entry pretty early on, even if there's not really any info. Who knows, we shall see.

Well, there is going to be a Batman: Year One movie coming in the pipeline (as someone else here pointed out.) I've also read of a "Batman vs. Superman" movie coming in the near future, directed by Christopher Nolan, the same man who directed "Memento".
WHA??? Wolverine's got street smart's, he'd kick any body's ass in a second. Well, not Magneto's, he's got an advantage with all that metal stuff going on.
the thing I like about Batman is that his existence is not such a load of crap. OK. . .
The Hulk: Murbot, Let's expose you to a ton of gamma radiation and see what happens. The fantastic four are exposed to cosmic rays. Maybe you can try those out too.
Superman: The planet Krypton . . . . yeah.
The X-Men: So, we're going to evolve ridiculous abilities? Um no.
Captain America: One super soldier serum coming right up.
etc.
Batman is just a guy with a big wad who is having an early and severe mid life crisis. Hey. . . that's almost believable!
...And he goes out to foil the plans of evil clowns with disfigured faces and fat dudes that pretend they are birds? I'll stick to adamantium-bonded endoskeleton with superhuman healing abilites.
The unfortunate thing about the Batman character is that it is SO appealing a platform from which to work that it has been endlessly bastardized over the decades. It seems to frustrate the dull-witted that Batman is JUST a man with a utility belt. They feel the need to tart him up with all sorts of gizmos and Zorro The Gay Blade special suits. Look at the crap action figures that they've churned out over the years. I've seen NASCAR vehicles with less offensive paint jobs than some of the plastic junk they glue onto the Batman character.
The movies of the 90's were hardly better. I give the original movie credit for trying to stay mostly faithful, but Tim Burton's extravagant wackiness is best poured into something like Beetlejuice. His feeling for angst is opposed by his sense of the stylishly freakish.
The same thing happens to every comicbook character at some point and time. Storylines and glued-on junk accumulate on their character until somebody decides that it's time to clear house and go back to the "classic" version of the character.
batman will whup any superhero's or villans arse. one other thing batman has is common sense, he knows he ain't form some strange planet or some strange radiation, and he knows when to run to survive, and when he comes back, is over for who's he fighting. He know's martial arts, he's as smart as an engineer/scientist and has the biggest attitude. he kicked superman's butt and broke the neck of the joker in one of the graphic novels. and he is human.
and he's also slept with just about every woman he's encountered, including lois lane.

Batman vs. ...
Daredevil
Spiderman
Captain America
Iron Man
Daredevil
Heightened senses, acrobatic ability, boxing & martial arts skills, billy-club baton, grappling hook thingy
Spiderman
Superhuman strength & reflexes, can scale walls & cling to surfaces, spider-sense, web-shooters
Captain America
Superior strength, agility, endurance, & reaction time, boxing & other fighting skills, indestructible shield
Iron Man
Exoskeleton armor w/near invulnerability, strength to lift 70 tons, various weapons, flying ability
Then again, Doomsday killed Clark with what..?
SUPER STRENGTH!
Man, that storyline sucked!
I'd take Iron Man over just about anyone not on a crazy cosmic-powered level.
I'm surprised no one has brought up Green Lantern, he's a heavyweight power-wise.
And quit dissin' Cap-he's my man!

I like Captain America partly for the fact that he's underpowered by super-hero standards, too.
And hey, who says Super Soldier Serum is so far-fetched?

- Margot Kidder as Lois Lane... ugh
- Valerie Perrine as Eve Teschmacher... not much better
- Sarah Douglas as Ursa, General Zod's date... average
- Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane in Lois & Clark was cute, but almost as heroic as Supes
- Kristin Kreuk is hot in Smallville, but she's under the age of consent
Female/Love interest/villain in Batman movies:- Kim Basinger as Vicki Vale... good
- Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy... bad acting but better girl
- Julie Newmar as Catwoman (original)... best? sexy enough to be inspiring even drag queens
- Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman (latex)... ultimate
Female/Love interest/villain in Spiderman movies:- Kirstin Dunst is pretty hot as a redhead MJ
Female/Love interest/villain in Daredevil movies:- Jennifer Garner seems pretty hot as Elektra (haven't seen yet)
so far, on this front, Batman is still ahead8)
