my wife and i went with my two sons (3 & 4) on friday, my 4 year old was old enough to understand all the peril involved, so he got kind of scared, the 3 year old sat transfixed for 90 minutes and is still talking about it.
the jellyfish scene might be the greatest animated scene i've ever seen.
we'll probably go back in a couple of weeks or so. it certainly doesn't disappoint, and i bought some pixar at $51 on the 22nd so that's looking good too.
Yeah, it wasn't as much of a tearjerker as Monsters Inc. but it at least had a semblence of a storyline. The humor was great as usual.
Does anybody else think Brother Bear looks cool? The teaser for The Incredibles has me worried...
Brother Bear looked like a lame... "the lion king did SO WELL how could we make a knock-off without being too much of a knock-off" movie.
I like it because of the setting and animation but frankly, the story and characters I dont think I'll be interested in and i dont think others will. I dont know.
Disney just has sucked for so long.... they have signs of brilliance but too much filler and crap inbetween
Yeah no kidding, opened really really well. Just goes to show the power of kids standing in front of their parents:
Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?Dad, Can we see it yet?
Must say though from a personal standpoint, it was the worst marketing out of all the Pixar movies so far. Horrible one sheet, horrible billboards...

i dont think so and if that were true I really doubt it would have pulled in as much as it did
and honestly, i dont even think you are right in your theory of its success because of kids pushing their parents to go. I went Saturday night and obviously its a late show so the kids will be fewer in number but the ENTIRE theater was full of people 18 and older.... sold out... every show that night, even the 12:30am one. So.....
Actually, I also thought the early teasers weren't that funny. the later ones were much better. It was something of a letdown considering how good the teaser was for Monsters Inc. But no matter.
We tried to go see it after dinner last night and it was sold out. Do you know how hard it is to explain "sold out" to a 2 1/2 year old?! We're trying again today, but this time I'm calling and getting the tickets in advance!
Finding Nemo was the big fish at the weekend box office, swimming to number one in its debut with about $70.6 million in domestic ticket sales, a record opening for an animated film, the Hollywood trade papers reported.

i saw it tonight as well. I really enjoyed it. Thought it was actually a bit better than Monsters, Inc.
Pixar has a real knack for developing characters and storytelling. So enjoyable to see their films.

Hmm, I don't know...I really like the look of cartoon bears. Maybe it's just my canine/carnivore/beast fetish...
