Buying 1st generation 970 system?

I'll get the first dual 1.8-or-faster that's available. If the first batch doesn't have a dual at 1.8 GHz or higher, I'll wait.



I'm expecting that it's likely that a dual 1.8 will be announced at the WWDC, and they'll be taking orders, but that they won't be as ready to ship as the single processor models will be.



(Of course, since this is Apple, I won't be at all surprised if they don't have enough single-processor systems ready to go to meet demand, and that those will be in back order status in no time. )

I NEED a PowerBook 970 for college. I MUST get one.

Hmmm....Matlab and Mathematica are going to run like flaming----runners on the 970. That might be reason enough for me to get a Rev. 1.



And for all those that wait for the "wrinkles to be ironed out," I understand. But SOMEBODY'S gotta buy the first generation.
