Rats...I was hoping Apple was finally getting a clue (and realize the goldmine they're sitting on) and start selling Apple logo merchandise (hats, shirts, keychains, mugs, etc.).
They did last year. But now they have gone back under the counter. I believe they still sell them if you ask them directly.

I don't know. The West Nyack store had a few items for a week or two, next time we went up they told us that Apple ordered them to stop selling them. I got the sense that they were doing it independant from Apple.

My way was fastest, that's all.

The floor is probably ceramic tile, apparently colored to look like concrete a la Old Navy (but less raw).
"Other hints of things to come, include plans for significant Apple Store floor-plan redesigns in the week after WWDC, suggesting new product releases."
I was at the Chestnut Hill Grand Opening. The floor is stone or faux-stone (I wasn't paying close attention) I'll post more pics of the store as soon as I get the pictures off my camera.
I guess I like the bigger store layouts best, but any Apple store is better than none. I like the idea of giving the stores more texture, but the clean look will make the stores less trendy over the long haul.
"I've heard from several people that they do this at the Cupertino HQ store, right? So don't come in here and say "that's not Steve's thing...he doesn't like that" because they wouldn't do it in Cupertino, right?"
Wrong. There's a world of difference between what the company store does and what that whole retail chain does.
I like the old design better. What happens when the wood gets dirty? The old tables made from the made stone (cannot spell it) they just sand down when the table gets dirty...well what they do at night anyway...

Can't sand wood? I've never seen this sanding operation you mention anyway. Seems like a lot of trouble. More likely they just have a minimum wage cleaning dude who buffs the hell out of those tables with a rag and cleaning solution.

Hmmm...
Maybe they are selling music in the store?
Wrong. There's a world of difference between what the company store does and what that whole retail chain does.
Only people around the Cupertino area are lucky or cool enough to get a chance to buy and own this stuff?

They replace them?
