For those of you out there feeling suicidal. "They don't go as fast as our competitor's bullets do but damn, they sure do look nice!"

    Think really different,

If the address is really coming from a .MIL site I don't see how it could be anyone's children writing the emails. They wouldn't be allowed on a military computer without the proper access.

I work at a .MIL site and my IP address doesn't show up as being my name. Whoever had the PC before me still has the IP address tied to them. So there's probably a couple scenarios:

    1. .MIL employee reads AI and is f'ing with Applenut

    2. .MIL employee knows or is related to someone from Apple and knows about something coming out and they just couldn't keep a secret.

    3. The Applenut from the future scenario....which is the most unlikely because wouldn't he just rather tell him who won the superbowl ala Back to the Future???

applenut1979...hmmm, maybe they were born in 1979? Which would make them 23 and probably out of college by now. Just something to consider.

Sorry, I don't buy the Applenut emailing himself from the future theory. I wish it were true, but I need more evidence. Message to future Applenut: Email mail me the winning numbers for Monday's MegaMillions Lotto game, and, maybe, just maybe I'll believe you. Actually, I think the real answer is much simpler and more sinister. Our good friend Applenut's being has split into two distinct halves? one good and one evil. The evidence seems to show that the evil half has already penetrated our military establishment. God save us all!

Not that it matters, but like most mistakes you made an assumtion which was wrong from the getgo. I would gladly invite anyone here to recheck all the above facts as I have and not the same mistake which has been made. (cooked grin) I'm kinda surprised how you let your imaginations run away with yourselves. I won't spoil the fun though.... Go on about your theories, but you might want to recheck some of those IPs/Names... a little typo can cause lots of errors....

Rechecking the IP still shows up as DISA.MIL.

The Defense Information Systems Agency. Even if the actual persons name was wrong, whats the difference? I don't see what you're talking about. Its still a .MIL address.

And Apple just today started to promote a special in store holiday event.

    <a href="http://www.apple.com/retail/thanksgiving/"; target="_blank">http://www.apple.com/retail/thanksgiving/</a>;

Not that I really buy into any of this but what the heck it keeps me outta trouble.

I think that the IP address is used for a lot of things, not just a single person. It might be a router address, with NAT going on behind it.

But, it could be something else, and if <a href="http://www.ipinfusion.com/"; target="_blank">this company</a> have anything to do with it, colour me a genius!

Apple will be offering some special deals at its retail locations on November 29 at the company's retail locations throughout the United States.

Starting at 6:00 pm and running until midnight Apple retail stores will be offering free stocking stuffers, special savings and a chance to win a 15-inch iMac. There is no purchase necessary to take advantage of the promotions. This promotion is only available at the retail outlets, but Apple will also be holding an online event as well.

Apple will be offering one night only deals at the company's online store from 6:00 pm - midnight PST.

More information on the promotion is available from Apple's Web site.<hr></blockquote>

    EDIT: Whoops. Noted above. Sorry.

Come on, Applenut just e-mail the person and see what response you get. Point out you know where they are located etc . . . It can't be that hard to e-mail someone.

And nslookup doesn't seem to work if you are behind a firewall. I just get the message:

    *** Can't find server name for address 192.168.0.1: Non-existent host/domain

*** Default servers are not available.

Why not email the owner of that IP, I'm sure that somebody here could find out Lynetta's email address.

Why would it be lynetta's personal IP? You do realize there are public computers out there, do you? And you do realize not all IPs are static.
