Samsung has been demonstrating the 46" screens for two months now. The 54" version is supposed to be 1920x1080. Since Samsung does the Apple Displays. I would guess its quite likely we'll see these screens from Apple soon.

what is the benefit to have a 54" with 1920x1080? to work on one computer with 3 persons?

I used to have a 56" Plasma screen in my office with a 1024 resolution. I can think of quite a good number of reasons why I would want a screen like this. (If I had the money.)

3 people working in a team (like in add-agencies), could put a screen like this to great use.

    Um, okay.

And yet the soon-to-be-late Gateway has had a bit of success selling a very inexpensive plasma display (42", I think).

And Samsung will demonstrate a 54" LCD prototype at CES next week.

A 54" Cinema Display? Heavens no!

But a Apple Store accessory for the future Shake users? Well, why not?

What a stupid thing to say.

Maybe not right now, but in a longer timeline how the F would you know? This is what sucks the most at AI, repetetive, none-constructive replies, with no content.

Someone post: hey, look at this cool technology, maybe Apple could do something with this? - No!, Moron! Will never HAPPEN!!!

    Go back to Trollistan.

Umm, I would love a large screen like that to work on daily.

I have a 22" flat panel now and would love to have a wall mounted display to work off of and get back even more room on my desk.

I can see this happening just as easliy as hard rives getting larger.

i feel a need to chime in here. the guy who said it will never happen is probably right. big displays with low resolution are meant to be viewed from far away like tv's or in the conf room. just becasue samsung thinks they can sell some doesn't mean apple should. for those few customers who might want this JUST BUY THE SAMSUNG! why do you have to have apple everything?

Why don't work on getting the sizes they have now down to a reasonable price?

How the fvck would I know? Well in reply how the fvck do you know you fellow moron.

Sorry, I wont lower my standards in this post to you.

Yes they [Apple] may do something like this but I doubt it greatly indeed. MY post was simple. I dont need to reason with everyone on what i think, I just kept it straight to the point. I have no evidence they will never do it so why ramble on?

To end this damm post I wonder why in gods name you have to become so defensive and tempremental in you post. Was there any cause to? Seriously. I mean think about it we are only talking about hardware nothing else, nothing more.

I think at this stage you should take a look at your self and think was the post really nesecery.

I really dont get some people sometimes. We are talking about hardware yest some people react like we are talking about family members or something.

Sorry , I just felt your, and the two next posts, where totally unnecessary, pointless, and sort of typical of a lot of posts here at AI.

Shouldn't those prices be ready for revision by now? The display line is really something Apple could do a lot more with at the moment.

"640 Kilobytes of computer memory ought to be enough for anybody."

I think it's eventual. Bigger is better.

Just had a thought...tag-team computing...now that's an interesting idea. 3 cursors, 3 keyboards, 3 mice, one big screen. It could allow people to continue working on a PhotoShop job as a team without having to transfer between computers. "Does this look good to you?" "Well, what if you did this *moves mouse to Photoshop and makes correction*. There you go." This may already exist, but I think it could be useful for a couple of purposes... <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />
