    something like that yes...

Maybe his chain slipped trough I don't know really.. could it also be he wasn't using a front deraileur (oh sp! thanks..) at all? and he had a problem with his back deraileur maybe.. (forgive my ignorance on bikes..)

for sure there wasn't an issue with his clips he said.

Naw. He had both front and back. If your chain slips off the back it doesn't throw you forward. If it slips off the front then you push down hard with your leg into nothing at all. The pedal is just free. Next thing you know your balls are headed for the bar. Plus Lance is down one already anyway.

Sometimes my cleat doesn't fully engage my Time ATACs and they just sorta wedge in between the two springed latches. They slip out after w while, but it's not always immediate. I dunno what Lance uses...Shimano SPDs?

I doubt he wasn't clipped in. He uses SPD-R latest greatest Dura-Ace. If his chain slipped off and his foot was free that could clip him out easily.

    Maybe he'll tell us someday.

Wow. Tyler won the stage today. With a broken collar bone. That guy could have had a podium win this year had it not been for the crash early on. Maybe next year.

I'm starting to think the tour site is wrong. It says the next time trial is a team one but everyone's talking about it as if it were and individual. When dose the tour ever have two team trials and one individual?

    From the official page:

Étape 19 : contre la montre individuel 49 km, samedi 26 juillet

It's an individual trial. That's also why people think that Ullrich can still win the tour (impossible in a team trial, Bianchi is too weak). However, this time, the temperatures won't be that high and Armstong seems to be stronger every day. I'm not even sure if Ullrich can win the time trial, let alone gain 1'07'' or even 1'36'' as he did in stage 12.

No way. Each year Lance has one bad day. This year his one bad day affected a whole week. That week is over. The "ever flabby" Jan Ullrich will cry like a spockets guest when Lance gets done.

Said the same about Indurain in 1996...

But I still believe Lance will win

Well, I liked Lance's face today, when flabby Jan went for the bonus seconds.

Yes, true. And if Armstrong hadn't had the accident... or Ullrich just went on... However, I don't think Ullrich can win the tour now. 65 seconds is too much on flat terrain. (But I think he will be faster than Armstrong)
