After reading all this above about the PB's and after all the problems with my iBook I think it will be some time before I even consider an apple portable again. I think my next apple will be a G5 tower.
Was that your burning problem or was it something else? (In regaurs to your other thread)
apparently the firewire disc mode was a different problem because it got stuck earlier in the process.
when i moved everything to a local drive and attempted to burn it actually did but paused at the end (i assume near the credits). That was with the maxell disc. All 5 of em failed.
I went and bought 10 Apple DVD-Rs. They all work perfectly.
I have no idea why.

i think my brother's iBook/800 is a better built product than my Powerbook 667. The Powerbook is great but there are enough problems/issues to make me question spending 3000 dollars on it.
