    hehe, I got onboard just in time for the kormac76 slot-loading, multicolored imac thread. We were all went bananas when it turned out to be true. I still can't believe how much bullshit he tricked us with after that.

    Combine that with this. Look at the dates. When was AI "bought" by SlapTech from MacNN? And we're still on MacNN's server? Also, note that the link mentions Kasper. Kasper didn't join up until nearly a year later.

    See where I'm going with this?

    Oh, and this actually would be better suited for General Discussion. Moving there now.

    Okay, two more questions before we go:

    *How long was the "great blackout" before the forms got back?

    *What was the Bad Flamingo and is it still up?

    Maybe it's because the kids at MacNN wanted to get press passes again and steve is anal about rumors sites so they "severed" their ties with AI.

    Oh wait, that's preposterous. . . . The real reason is because they didn't like getting the crap beat out of them with cricket bats all the time, and wanted to get rid of us.

    AI is certainly more Pop nowadays, It used to be a kind of in the shadows "word of mouth" type thing.

    at anyrate it's always been the best forum for apple discussion, rumors or otherwise.

    imo.

    No, silly. The ribbon was being given to the theory about the cricket bats.

    <brag>

    I registered as an AI member in Jan 99

    </brag>

    Bad Flamingo was an AI member's way of keeping the herd together. It was our "tent city" while we lived in squalor and filth. When AI came back a bunch of people swept back over, but I dragged my feet for a few days because I was so worried that the server would go down yet AGAIN....yeah, it was that ugly.

    I think that I've kicked my major AI habit.

    Still, if the servers ever go down here you should start to scan other forums for people with AI sigs. Eventually they'll all reassemble under one forum until the domain goes back up on yet another server....see, that's how a survivor of the Great Blackout thinks...pure digi-survival man.

    AI sigs? Mine changes. Today Unix®, tomorrow Panasonic®. Who knows.

    My name will stay. Either Defiant or defiant or defiantai.

    Mucho Macho maybe too.
