We get his show in Indianapolis delayed 2 hours, so I got the news flash before I heard his statement.

Evidently he's been hitting the mircophone with more than just one half of his brain tied behind his back. He's addicted to pain killers? I wouldn't care if he'd been doing heroin. He's still sharper than most people and he has continued to beat back liberals while (apparently) under the influence of pain medication. Think of what this man has accomplished. He'll beat this and when he's clean, he'll return to the E.I.B. microphone and continue the struggle.

Even if he doesn't come back, I'd say that his most likely successor would be Walter Williams, who is a genius.

No big deal to me. Rush, you've got five weeks of hell ahead of you. Hang in there and get back to E.I.B.

hehe... so easy to forgive your own while still pointing the finger at others... nice.

Sounds like... starts with an H... ends in Y.

    with ypocris in the middle.

He's not a genius... he's a blowhard. Probably needed the drugs to keep up the sham.

Wow. I never thought I'd see the day that I see someone openly coming out in support for the Limbowzer. I'll bet you you think his poo smells of roses.

Must we all be liberals der Kopf?

While I do not care for all that Rush says I do think he makes people think about politics.

I find it funny how some on the left place themselves above anyone who is not one of them.

Figures the RUSH topic would degenerate into a dissfest.

Not much to say on this I see. Rush is addicted to pain killers he started for his back and other problems.

I'm not sure how much else there is to say. He's in rehab, and that's good. As for crminal charges, he'll probably get some sort of suspended sentence depending on what he was doing with the pills.

I'm not Rush's biggest fan...more so for his style than his opinions. That being said, one has to admit there are a lot of liberals out there who would like to take him down. Those of you gloating obviously have never listented to him. I'm not sure of his positions on drug users, but to assume he wanted to sentence them to death (hyperbole intended) is a bit premature.

Oh, and I agree: Those who use drugs should get forced rehab...not jail time. Those who deal should get BIG jail time.

No. Those who use drugs should be allowed to as long as they aren't going out driving...same as alcohol. It is none of mine or your god damn business to tell other people what they can and cannot ingest.

    I'm wondering a few things:

    1) Is it possible that he performed his show while under the influence of narcotics? In other words, is it possible that he was high while on the radio?

    2) If this is true, is it possible that Limbaugh's drug-fueled remarks have in turn affected the political climate in America?

    3) Is it possible that Limbaugh, if high on the air, made remarks he would not have made if he were not high? Is it possible that he made connections or characterized individuals and situations in ways he would not have had he not been high?

So, let me get this straight: we are talking about the same Limbaugh who had a short stint on ESPN (one show?) where he displayed a rather racist outlook on life (although some may disagree). Now that the storm is raging in all heaviness, he comes out with this drek. So is that how people should see his recent remarks? The poor sod who was pushed into addiction by drunken quacks that know not the profession they took years to learn. If my stomach hadn't been under constant attack by the haunting image of the molds between Limbaugh's second and third gut-flaps, I'd almost start loving the courageous and upstanding citizen.

Me. Because I'm wondering whether or not it's possible that L's drug problem might have affected the political climate. He is a pretty powerful guy, after all.

Why the hell do you care whether or not his comments were drug induced or not? At the time no one knew and they evaluated the comments on their own merits. Hell, even now that people know the comments STILL should be evaluated on their own merits. It DOESN'T MATTER whether they were said because of drugs or not.
