That should give you a warm fuzzy. All that money is from ethical corporations that just think Bush is doing a great job.

No, they didn't. Sony got screwed by Nintendo way back and basically said "F#&% you guys then. We'll make our own console."

Well, I chose "I'm tired of the terrible software that Microsoft continues to release." Even though, my first computer was a Mac, I switched to Windows and then back to Mac, after realizing how horrible Windows is.

MS needs the competition, MS needs toa get much better.

if MS was rice, people would be scared to death of a blight that would leave billions starving, needs more diversity, look a china, korea and japan looking to another OS to avoid many issues

    MS big is not better

the customer should matter some times, don't you think

POWER CORRUPTS AND ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY, and it has perverted what computers could be,

MS is an obstacle to advancing anything

Finally got fed up with all the memory leaks and system lock-ups to the point where I was rebooting the machine about 4 times daily. With PC's, the longer you have them, the buggier they get, and thus far my Mac has proven to be the opposite case.

partially, I really dislike Microsoft (I'm happy they are getting lawsuits constantly, does that make me a bad person?) I like the cool crisp look of the mac, how they are always ahead of the game when it comes to usability, and looks especially. I can imagine myself with the powerbook now... with the glowing apple symbol *sigh* drooled over them again today at the store

This is really interesting to me, as I was wondering about the decision Apple made to give the iPod Windows compatibility. At first glance you'd think they would have kept it Mac-only and used it as the drool-worthy incentive to switch to Mac. "You want the coolest MP3 player in the world? Get a Mac." Instead they went the Trojan-horse route and figured if Windows people bought iPods they'd fall under the spell of the whole Apple aesthetic. (Plus, of course, you get to sell a whole lot more iPods.) If I'd had to guess, I'd have gone the first route, based on the assumption that to get people to switch, you have to give them something they simply CANNOT do on their current platform. Hmmm...

I switched in 2000 after spending 2 years working on Macs at school and discovering that they were MUCH easier to use than PCs. The only edge that a PC has over my Mac is that there are more games available for a PC ... but that's what my game platforms (PSOne, Dreamcast, and XBox) are for.

Then don't hang around here complaining. Macs retain the best resell value of any computer I've seen. Sell your Mac on eBay and you should have plenty left to buy or build a comparable PC.

It's been great to hear everyone's reasons. I didn't think to ask, but I wonder if there are any linux/mac switchers out there?

well, I don't mean to annoy anyone here, just what I am thinking after the switch, mac is not all good, it has flaw, and everybody here is responsible to make other know what the situation is on a mac, and people won't waste their money, or make the wrong switch.

    is that right?

    peace.

? Mac OS X is easier to use

? I just like Macs, my first computer was one (but then we moved to Winedows)
