Since you don't have a point I will provide one for you.

But only this one last time. I don't believe in perpetual welfare.

Social Security isn't a retirement program for those currently paying into the program. It's for those that are already retired, or are about to retire. There's no guarantee you or I will ever get anything back and I don't live my life as if I will. That means I manage my own retirement money after I pay for SS.

Sorry, dems, but you're going to have to put up with a lot more libertarians very soon. The wind is blowing is that direction. The Republican party as we know it is dying. Go to any university and find out yourself.

And you know what's the scariest thing? Reagan's 1980 campaign was very ideologically libertarian, and how many states did he win?

Yeah, it's a bit goofy. I don't mind though, because I'm in favor of helping the elderly. They helped us all by going first so I don't mind a little payback.

I know your opinion is just let 'em die, but I'd say the same for you and me first.

I don't mind helping the elderly either, but social security is out of control. At the very least it could be reformed.

I also believe that helping the elderly shouldn't be part of a federal mandate.

However the dems and repubs won't let the Libertarians play in their elcetion day games. They won;t allow matching for campaign funding ( a process installed to keep smaller more logical parties at bay), and they never get invited to any debates (unless they are insanely rich or in the case of Perot, just insane).

Politicians jobs are merely to stay in office. That's it. They 'campaign' 96% of the time they are IN office just to raise money and support to stay there. They actively deal with thinly veiled special interest groups and PACS working for major corporations who funnel money to campaigns for support on keeping them in business. I have an inate mistrust for anyone whose sole purpose in life is trying to keep their job serving the public trust, rather than actually DOING their job serving the public trust.

You want things to improve? MASSIVE campaign reforms. No pac or special interest money. No federal funding for ANY party, no matter what. Get rid of private donations and make them all public. You need to take the money out of politics, thus taking politcs away from the money (business, crazy texans, and mad media moguls).

FORCE public debates on actual issues. Yeah, issues, remember them? And make the politicians ANSWER the questions. The on the ballot we need a none of the above box. That way when these parties put up some of the slop they call candidates for us to choose from we can say, "What the hell is this slop?"

And don't even get me started on advertising... I haven't seen a tv add for a politician that had anything to do with an important issue in years. The evening news has reduced politics to a Sportcenter blurb. 20 seconds and done, everything is a sound bite. Your responsibility as a voting citizen is critical and independant thinking when choosing elected officials, how is this relaisticly possible when all you know is how bad the other guy is?

You are correct, but in 100 years time a Libertarian will be president, and at the same time a "Libertarian" will never win the presidency. Without being so circular, it's clear to me that we're going to slowly assimilate the Republican party.

The terminator has very subtley begun the process.

It definitely should be reformed, but I wouldn't want it privatized if it's going to exist.

It all relates to taxes and taxation policy. Get out of our political thread, starfleet boy.

    Drugs for all.

    Genetically modified anything for anyone.

Totally secularize government, removing all religious references from money, mottos, et cetera.

    Still love me SDW?

Oh yeah...assisted suicide for all who want it as well! Can't forget that!
