So my question is why is it everytime I download something or stream something it is about at dial-up speeds?
It depends on the server that you're downloading from. You can have the fastest connection in the world, but it won't make a difference if you're downloading from slow servers.
According to that test, It's even lower then what my 2WIRE says it is...
2 Factors that will lift my Spirits, and that may not be my real speeds
The Server was in San Jose, so it's not entirely local
I suspect there are incompatibilities between the Airport Express and the Core 2 Duo Macs... like there were with the Airports... it stopped throwing me off though...

PS: ~$27-$30 a month. I Can't quite remember... I think my 12 Month deal has worn off by now though, plus I upgraded my service to AT&T Pro a few months ago \
Wow... what a difference waiting until 1:30 AM to run the test makes...
The upload rate, while pretty decent, isn't anything to make a fuss over. That download rate, however... wow! I could practically stream HD video at that rate (at least until a next door neighbor tried to do suck down just as much data at the same time as me).
Decided to plug in the ethernet cable. Read 'em and weep!
Nice. Business service, your own home fiber drop, something else? Verizon has been stringing up a lot of new fiber and fiber drops in my neighborhood lately, but still hasn't notified anyone when any related new services (like FiOS) might be available. I'm expecting something more like "fiber to the curb" rather than "fiber to the home", but even that should be very nice -- although I think it would "only" go up to 30 mbps down, about half of what you're getting.
I am curious as to how long it takes you to download a Movie from iTunes?
Sebastian
I'd assume it'd be limited to Apple's server... which I don't know what that would be. I'm sure their server can be extremely fast, but they might limit the bandwidth rate per customer.

Every server I have tried has been at about 56kb/s. Lead me to a fast one that I can download something worthless from and I'll check how fast I download it.

Is that the speed you're getting on your fiber connection?

Not sure what the problem is with my upload speed, though, as it should be up over 20,000. I'll have to check out my router settings.

Too bad they don't offer that kind of service in the US for that price.
