Hey Ybot, I am no where near Wpg anymore 8) I live on the westcoast.. we had a light dusting this morning.. but it's like 7 or 8 degrees right now so.. it's pretty nice out.. and really wet.

You must be going to UofM? GO BISONS GO!

Is there a Westworld where any of you are at? I know there are one's in Calgary.. Edmonton.. anyone buy a 'Mac'hine from there?</strong><hr></blockquote>

7 or 8 ABOVE!? That's sooo warm, I wish I was back in Vancouver. I remember people were complaining like it was the end of the world when it was -12º and I was wearing a spring jacket and everyone else had winter coats and big boots (and there wasn't even that much snow!) Hehe.

I'm at the UofW for my BA in PolySci, then off to the UofM to get my LL.B. But Go Bisons anyway though!

I've never heard of Westworld, I assume it is a Mac shop? I guess Calgary is as far West as they get. It's kind of odd that Winnipeg is considered West-coast since we're pretty central. Yet I keep getting copies of Western Living crammed in my newspaper. heh

Yeah, it's not an ideal place to live, putting it mildly.

Most times when I mention that to someone here, they say "Oh, that's where that girl was murdered! I saw that show on TV!"

Of course referring to that native girl who was murdered with a screwdriver (stabbed SEVERAL times) out by the lake at a pumphouse. It was a movie that is on CBC every year or so...

(BTW, if you've seen that movie - The Pas isn't as bad as they make it out. Typical CBC - trying to make up for their shitty movie making abilities by making the town look MUCH worse than it is.)

Weird thing is, everyone knew who did it, but they didn't do anything about it for years. One guy ratted out his buddies and got off with nothing - and he now lives in Victoria! (better watch your back, Burn!)

My dad told me that they'd be at the bar (he's the same age) and this guy would be sitting at a table... next thing you know a waitress is putting down 6 Vodka & Oranges on his table. (Screwdrivers!!)

Everyone in the damn bar would send him one, he'd have like 30 goddamned Screwdrivers in front of him.

Kind of hard not to feel guilty...

Getting back on topic. Sockboy, have you looked into going through the Apple Developer Connection? I'm in poor ol' Saskatchewan here and that's what I did to get my new iBook.

The cost is $160 CAD to join ADC student. This gives you 20% off the purchase of one computer system from Apple. However, you have to go directly through EMJ (dealing with the one in Winterpeg in my case).

Might not be worth it for an iMac purchase (seems to me it's only 15% off on those) but if you ever think of going much higher end, I figured you could save over $1000 with this when buying a big dual processor tower.

Anyway, you can learn more about it <a href="http://developer.apple.com/students/sthardware.html"; target="_blank">here</a>.

PS: The coldest we hit here so far was 29 below last week with a windchill of over 40 below. <img src="graemlins/embarrassed.gif" border="0" alt="[Embarrassed]" />

Hmm, I've never seen that movie, I usually avoid those CBC-funded and produced bastardizations of film. So luckily I haven't been tainted to believe The Pas is populated exclusively by criminal homicidal maniacs.
