I don't care for hiphop (I kind of like Outkast, but nevermind), but Eminem's lyrics have more substance. Heck, even his music as a whole sounds better.
now i'm kinda intrigued by Outkast, they are hilarious. noy sure i'd buy their cd though but i think they are pretty different and original
Eminem is good at rapping, but none of his singles has to do with anything! Every song that he's released to radio has been about what we can call him, how he's so controversial, and/or how everybody can just shut up.
Wow. Dynamic. Way to tackle the issues there, Marshall.
When Eminem was presented as a caricature of rap, I though it was hilarious. When I learned that in the movie 8-mile, Eminem seems to take himself seriously as a black man, at that point, I thought, look, (and I mean this in the most repressed heterosexual way possible) either show us your big African schlong, or get off the stage.
I kind of thought that once Eminem got into movies he'd then start to pick fights with other actors like he did with Moby. I wouldn't have put it past him.... talking shit about Ed Asner or something.
I don't care for him. His controversy is a gimmick to sell his cds. His music is just as over produced as Nsync and Brittany Spears. Catchy music doesn't necessarily mean it's good.
It looks like the secret service is about to question Eminem about his new song:
Quote:
The Secret Service is planning to conduct an interview with rapper EMINEM, government sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT, after a new song by the artist appeared on the Internet -- a song that wished the "president dead!"
After that it begins to overflow. Preventing vital systems from functioning.
If you want to make a difference start a charity or something. Don't try to put out a message: I hate the world, the world hates me, f**k the world heehee, I'm a badass etc.
When you are the antithesis of what you talk/rap about how much credibility do you really have? Less than you think.
If I listened to Eminem's music enough, I'd pull a Stan too. I have a lot more respect for a group like the Black-Eyed Peas and some rappers that talk about real issues without the bleep, bleep, bitch, bleep, bleep, insert bleep here deal.
However, Eminem (and other people, not necessarily rap artists) have allowed me to appreciate other people's views of the world and to steer clear of them.
Hooray for Eminem, the triumph of today's youth (as well as old business men). He truly personifies, the natural progression of the human race!

A sane person can only swallow so much bullshit.
