I normally feel duty-bound to finish a movie that I have rented, but neither my wife nor I had any interest seeing the end to Spider Man #1, so we just switched it off. I don't see why people were excited by that film (other than the 'wet shirt' sequence, but that was all too brief).
July 2 is still a long way away though. I have higher hopes for this one, scriptwise at least, because Michael Chabon wrote the screenplay, and he's an excellent author.

i was just the opposite, i'd read so many bad things about editing out the WTC towers and how it screwed up continuity in so many places, but i really enjoyed it more than i thought i would.
i think hollywood is screwing up this kind of movie less and less.
eh...wake me up when Spidey battles Venom or Carnage. At least those guys weren't related to Ozcorp.
Doc Oc rocks.
It's makes me sorta giddy that it is finally possible to create these characters like I saw them in my mind's eye: swooping, clinging, leaping, crushing, etc. When I saw those first shots from Spiderman 1 of Spidey web-slingiin' down 5th avenue, I felt like a kid who was seeing his fantasies projecting out of his eyeballs.
And this one looks like they've got more action out of the CG Spiderman, plus Doc Oc clawing his way up the sides of buildings, flingin' shit... I'm good.

I think the public is ready to see the towers again.
anyone else?
flick.
And who's going to play her?
seems sam raimi and the writers are taking a "superman 2" approach to this film, and heck, that worked out well...

I've been watching Spidey since the cartoon series in the seventies, and it's nice to see it's finally reached its potential.
But hopefully Spiderman 3 is around the corner.
