Yes, I do know! A couple years ago I visited Italy and there was nudity on regular broadcast TV pretty regularly... of course my brother and I (12 and 16 at the time) made a big deal of it, but after a while we didn't really care. And if we grew up with things like that, we wouldn't think twice about it. If America were like this I think things would be better here. Everyone's so uptight about everything here - it's almost as if they WANT to be offended just so they can bitch about things.

    Pity us.

I agree. It's twisted that much of america thinks it's worse to look at somebody than to witness murder, rape, and torture. It's ok to show people being shot in slow motion but don't dare show a human body.

Oh wait, that's right. Seeing someone's skin is evil.

That's the key right there. People with nothing better to do with their time than get offended by stuff. People need a life. The human body is such an amazing thing, it's a shame that it is so hidden here in America.

There is nothing new about what Fox is doing. It's just that the number of people being titilated is increasing.

The problem with titilation is akin to what the problem drug addicts face: you must increase the dosage to maintain the high. You do that for ten or twenty years at a stretch and you end up with big problems.

Well, IF that's true, I'm willing to die of a "boobies OD" anytime!

Now excuse me while I increase my daily dose.

The "MA" TV rating on American TV a few years ago set some writers off a bit for a while. I remember a slew of NYPD episodes where the action just happened to take place in a titty bar. Now that HBO and other cable networks are scoring hits with some fairly, um, in-your-face programming, the broadcast networks are busy playing "me too!" again, or rather, as usual.

It's true that cursing and nudity are a staple of Canadian late night television. Call me a Puritan if you want, but showing what amounts to hard core sex on basic cable adds nothing to Canadian society. When you look at what it might be costing our society, it gets scary.

Basically, this policy is lauded by our more insecure Canucks as a defining point between us and "the Americans" and is meant to show we're "less uptight about sex" and "more European" in our character.

This kind of Northern Stupidity is the reason why Canada is becoming less and less relevant in the world. You don't build a nation on being different from another country. And Europe was worth liberating but definitely isn't worth emulating.

So what your telling us is that they show penetration on basic cable in Canada? (you said hardcore sex)\ Somehow I doubt it.

The word **** (<-- censored by the forum) and tits don't exactly add up to "hardcore sex". Lighten up... untighten your belt and take the twig out of your ass...... treating nudity as being morally wrong is in itself harmful. Also, words are only words... and in their use only a part of expression.

hmmmmm......'don't remember Venus being sandwiched between Dennis Franz's ass cheeks in a shower sequence. But then if you can't tell the difference between Botticelli's work and Larry Flint's, I would suggest some careful introspection.

Remember when John Ashcroft spent $8000 to cover up the statue of justice?

This country really needs a serious enema.
