I didnt drive it, just sat in one, but all the reviews I've read said it handles better than the Camry, almost but not quite as good as an Accord. Think sporty like the Saab 9-3 with a little more dampering for potholes...........................

What Steve666 really meant to say: Japanse AND French. OMG!

What Steve666 really meant to say: Oh look, Japanese.

What Steve666 really meant to say: I have to make it look less obvious so I'm going to say I like this one Japanese brand. Ford has a large share in them so that makes it somewhat okay.

What Steve666 really meant to say: Not American. Yeah, let's put Buick ahead of these Euro-pansies.

What Steve666 really meant to say: GOD BLESS AMERICA.

What Steve666 really meant to say: No true American could dislike the Corvette.

What Steve666 really meant to say: I never heard of Holden before a few months ago, but they rule now because they were really closeted Pontiacs all along. Oh wait.

What Steve666 really meant to say: I have no aesthetic sense.

What Steve666 really meant to say: This looks suspiciously like a foreign car!

Actually I said exactly what I meant to say.

As for Holden, they are GM's arm in Australia. I happen to think they design cars alot better than GMs here.........................

    Holden?

    I wouldn't know

Their most specific designs however, the Commodore (sold elsewhere as the 3rd generation Chevrolet Lumina)

and its long-wheelbase derivative the Statesman (sold in some places as the newer Chevrolet Caprice),

are themselves derived from the ten year-old Opel Omega (which was exported for a while to the USA as the Cadilllac Catera).

So the coupé version, the Monaro, rebadged as the Pontiac GTO for North America, is quite a German design.

Hey, even without the leather/speaker package, that thing'll drive like a dream, and is one of the sexiest (imho) cars ever made. Everyone, and I mean everyone that I know who's seen ours falls in lust with it.

Most of those cars look better than their American counterparts. I dont know how the malibu got past Bob Lutz with those front ends and boring interiors. It wouldnt prevent me from buying one because they arent ugly or anything but they could have been much better looking. Going up against the Accord and Camry the malibu needed everything in its favor. Chevy just doesnt seem to go all out and I was expecting a nicer design. Oh well.

The new Pontiac G6, which is replacing the Grand Am, is nice looking. Clean and sleek. The interior is an improvement but I need to see a better picture of it . As for the name, I dont like it. They wanted people to make sure its a better car than the Grand Am so they chagned the name, but G6? How about Le Mans? It doesnt make sense to have one car in their lineup in letters.............................

Yeah, it is a great looking car. My dad was over here before and he drove the Altima today so I drove it for a few minutes. It drives really well.

Would be nice if true. I've got a Saab now and love the way it handles.

Well, they are both based on the same global epsilon platform. The reviews I read said that the good handling alone placed the malibu right up there with the Accord, Camry, Altima and mazda 6. The 6 cylinder engine was also praised for being smooth even though its not as modern a design as the others. The only faults they found were in the design and thats a personal thing. I think they could have done a better job with that although the interior is very ergonomic and the seats are very comfortable.......................

There's nothing more fine than doing 140km on a highway in it while blasting music; just a damn joy to drive.

GM lags in design, what else is new? Let's see how long it lasts. Untill very recently, I would never have really placed the Japanese ahead of the americans in terms of styling. Both had their share of homely vehicles: America's being very tacky; Japan's being very boring.

But there are some really nice clean shapes coming from Japan. I just saw a Mazda 3 the other day. It's a really nice, clean and simple small car shape, especially at the Canadian market price. If I were in the market for a small city car, I would definitely give it a look. Likewise the Accord is a nice clean mid-size shape. I wouldn't really call Nissan's Maxima and Altima styling "clean" but the shapes are good and they are visually interesting. Besides, the interiors are huge, and nice to be in. Their Murano, and certain Infinity brand vehicles are very handsome.

The SSR was developed to be a low-run car. If it were never built does not mean a Camaro would've sprung up in its place. That's like reasoning that the xServe is stealing resources from the iBook.

It, actually, was never to have been in production: a pure concept for the 75th (or somesuch) anniversary of Chevy Trucks. Automotive press go ga-ga; GM does market research and people say they'll buy it; GM decides to build it. Done.

It's essentially a two-seat convertable with a really big trunk, and much more succesful than the hideous Chrysler (Plymouth) Prowler.

The Camaro/Firebird will return one day. The brand is too known not to.
