You know there's gonna be a South Park episode on it now...
Personally, I don't think it was such a great idea, but Steve is always going to be "Steve"... Also, his wife is actually that lady that goes along with him on all those crazy trips. They both are nature exploring nuts. Though I wonder if Mrs. Crocodile Hunter had a few choice words waiting for him after the ordeal. I mean, a mother is a mother- ain't no way she could imagine taking such a risk with her own baby, Steve Irwin or not.
No news in that. Crocodiles are hungry, babies are delicious and men are stupid.
"Crocodile tries to feed man to a baby". Now THAT would make heads turn.
Crocodiles also seem to love cyclists Anders. & seeing as I know how much you like cycling, well if around these parts you just have to watch out for Crocs.
I just saw the video on TeeVee and it was no big deal. Not for him.
I can't believe I agree with Scott, but I do. For experts like Mr. Irwin, it's probably more dangerous to drive than what he did. We're talking about a tiny 4-foot captivity-breed croc that he's probably handled dozens of times.
I guess "just" is a subjective qualifier. You could just as easily phrase your sentence as, "Steve fed a G-damn croc' while holding his freakin' baby!"
I mean, it's not like the croc really knew the difference between the clump of meat Steve was holding out and the baby he was holding. For all it knows, the baby was simply the next thing to be held out for it to gulp. It's all meat to the croc. The only thing that matters is how cooperative the croc feels like being wrt to what is being held out to it vs. "meat on-deck". ...or how about this- what if the croc sees the baby and thinks, "What's this? Stevo has brought me some live prey today? It must be my birthday!!! How about we forgeddabout that stupid strip of dead stuff you're holding out and get right to the good stuff?"
...and does it really matter if it was a "small" croc? It was big enough to do either Steve or the baby some serious damage given the opportunity. It doesn't have to be a 25 ft beast from the Amazon to be a threat.
I would think that anyone who saw the video would know that it was no big deal, for Steve. He just did what he does 1000 times a year, every year, but with his kid. Maybe it was bring your child to work day down under?
Saw Steve on TV tonight - an exclusive interview on A Current Affair. He is such a hyped-up man, it's hard to tell what type of grip he has on reality. Personally, it's not something I'd be doing... I mean, c'mon is it really his:

She was feeding crocs while pregnant.
It's just a demonstration of the stupidity of some parents.

I like irwin, he's like a big kid, but if you watch his shows, you can see he knows what he's doing.
I don't mind he take risk for himself. I blame him for taking risk to his kid. Accidents can always occurs : he can slip or have a syncopis.

Probably no more than Whacko Jacko hanging his son out of the highrise apartment window.

(Well that is my Devil's Advocate piece)

Yes? (is this a trick question?)
Plus, he's hugely passionate about his family-there's a show where his daughter is born-he's more excited than any father I've seen.
He wouldn't put his son in danger, and didn't due to his expertise.
