It uses an OS 9 Desktop, trashing various folders like Civil Liberties, Environment, Social Security and such to get its point across

I like the style of the In My Country ad the best. You can totally tell what is coming from the start, but I love irony.

As long as secular groups can access school facilities after hours, religious groups should be able to do so as well. The government shouldn't be able to tell my kids what private groups they should or should not join.

it doesn't. your child can join any group it wants. school grounds just shouldn't be used for religious indoctrination. it's pretty simple.

there's a big difference between chess club and bible study.

some good ads to pick from, and pretty impressive production values...

"What are we teaching our children" stands out, as does "Child's Pay"

"Leave no Billionaire Behind" and "Wake Up" both seem clever.

hard to keep only one... a few should share ad space

I, personally, have no problem with a bible study meeting on school grounds after school is out. The school, after all, belongs to the community, and any group should be able to apply to use the facilities if they're available. That goes for non-school affiliated Boy Scout groups, chess clubs, D&D clubs, Bible studies, whatever.

However, I don't want public money going to fund Bible studies.

I'm Christian, but have come to embrace the separation of church and state. "Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's" and all that, it's a logical, equitable plan for everyone - I can't force you to my faith and am not inclined so to do. I do find chu_bakka's use of the word "indoctrination" interesting though because, in a way, our schools can (and perhaps are) be(ing) used to indoctrinate our kids into agnosticicity.

The ads? I'd like to see the same creativity used with the other candidates...after all, fair's fair. And political comedy is often the best, all of these guys make me laugh!

    And that difference is?

Don't force your own hangups about religion onto the rest of us. Kirkland's right. Absolutely no public money should fund the sessions. But it's just plain ridiculous to say that every group can be allowed to serve the community unless you're religious - at which point your group must be imprisoned within its own four walls.

well... I knew it was a hot button word. Having a little fun.

I just think that religious teaching belong in houses of worship and at home.

To easily schools can become an unwanted recruiting ground for religion.

My sheep know the sound of my voice....

I figure there are some that belong to other flocks. It's a free will thing. I must say, I've never seen anyone approached to join a church AT SCHOOL. I've seen it in other places.

There was a guy named Brother Jim who used to preach at Georgia Tech, outside the student center. People like Brother Jim can forever shut people's hearts and minds about God because they believe that they can convince people to have the faith they have....they're blinded to how ridiculous they appear to everyone else around them.

They're not exactly an asset to the marketing department.

    I vote for Kirkland's proposal.

Look. Its just empty rooms. Back in my poolitical career we used schools to have our meetings among the local members. Its not like the groups will take over the rooms right after the bell rings and force the children to stay and listen to them or let a crusifix to the next day for kids to see.

And of course this right should go to all muslim and jewish groups as well unless they are outlawed as terrorists by a law or court ruling. And satanists.
