What lies? If it's criticism of Bush it's a lie?

    Lock Box.

Educate yourself. There are no "Social Security funds", just a payroll tax that goes into the treasury. Try not to be so ignorant in the future.

So can we agree that this is a "lie"?

    No.

When you barrow the SS that goes into the treasury you're barrowing from SS.

I hate to say it but this is an old story. My mom worked for SS for over 25 years and she always told me :

" Don't depend on it because it will probably be gone by the time you are of age to receive it. It's rotten from the core out. "

So they have been raping and plundering this for years. It's just that Bush is especially bad about it.

Grrrr...I hate Bush bashing. It's quickly becoming the national past-time, even for those who support Bush. The man is doing a great job, all things considered.

Gotta love the platinum sounds that went along with that too. Brings back memories of life pre OS X

It's been rotten for 25 years but is MORE rotten under Bush...HAhahahahaha... The thing is rotten from the beginning because it is pay as you go. If anyone truly understood that they wouldn't be letting 13% of their money go to the government with NO return.

It does need to be reformed, ended as we know it. But it's the "third rail" of politics. Democrats hear no evil see no evil but do speak evil.

So we?ll continue with the same crappy system.

What folks refuse to understand is that the absence of religion is itself a religion.

    That makes no sense.

Belief in NO religion is a religion in itself? Do they go to the invisible chruch for that?

And it's possible to believe in a higher being WITHOUT having a religion.

And it's also easy to have a well rounded belief and morals system... without religion and a belief in a god or gods.

Again, you're letting a hostility toward organized religion intrude on simple logic.

It's probably closer to the mark to say that you don't understand what a religion is.

A religion is a set of beliefs and morals that shape a person's worldview.

The belief that man evolved from the ape and accounts to no higher power than himself is every bit as much a "religion" as a fundamentalist who thinks the earth is 10,000 years old.

No church, mosque or temple necessary.

a.\tBelief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe.

b.\tA personal or institutionalized system grounded in such belief and worship.

2.\tThe life or condition of a person in a religious order.

3.\tA set of beliefs, values, and practices based on the teachings of a spiritual leader.
