Keynote Excitement

I had not even been following rumors very closely until just about two weeks ago since the last ones died down. I just started posting here again this week, but expo fever has hit me hard. Steve, Apple, their marketing just has that affect on me. Who else stayed up late into the night and early morning to refresh 'macminute' and scowered the rumor sites to find any shred of evidence of new hardware? I can sum up how I feel by quoting one of my favorite books, hehe.

The Second Coming of Steve Jobs, "One last thing," he said nonchalantly. After two and a half years of hesitation and indecision, he was finally accepting the title of chief executive officer of Apple Computer.

The thousands rose and rejoiced. Wave after wave of applause resonated through the vast hall. They chanted his name like a mantra: "STEVE! STEVE! STEVE! STEVE!"

It's for moments like these that I have come to love the Mac, Apple history, and these keynotes. History is made at these events, and sometimes we catch a glimpse of what path the computer world is going...where Apple is taking it.

<sarcasm> I'm waiting on pins and needles </sarcasm>

I just bought a 15" Powerbook. Apple's gotten all the money out of me that they're going to get for a while.

Live updates for the keynote are available at MacRumors, and I assume other sites.

    Yes strange.

First he shows the 1984 commercial (which is one big up yours to mainly IBM but every dominating company like MS today). And then he invites MS to present their stuff and talks longly about the G5 from IBM.

But hey. At least MS put a non-sales person on stage. Ms Ho.

    Hmm. Office looked great actually.

Sure looks like that is the case. Also means no G5 Powerbook for sure. He said, "And that is what we have for the G5 today."

notice the MS folks didn't bother showing Powerpoint vs Keynote

the 1U XServe was impressive (must get hot or push big wind),

but the cross-certification of XServe and RAID for Linux and Win Server functions seemed to wow

starting with 1984 bodes well for the Stevenote to end with a one more thing ( with new commercial)

I'll just be psyched if iPhoto actually handles 25,000 photos w/o slowing down. I'd actually start using the app.

Same here. It got very sluggish for me so I quit using it.

    What a Revolution!

Seriously, why so low? Do you have $10,000 invested in darkroom equipment or something?

Eh, the looping part is kinda cool. But, it's so cheap. Get ready for an onslaught of iMovies that have this kinda stuff... I would use it but I would do the sampling myself.
