I thought I heard people saying that iDVD 4 would have support for external burners. After checking www.apple.com/ilife/idvd/ I'm not sure if that's true - at the bottom of the main page there's a small note that says "burning requires an Apple Superdrive."
However, you are able to use iDVD to work on a DVD project with one computer, archive it, and move it to another computer for burning. That's one of the new features listed - their example is if you take an iBook with you on a trip somewhere, you can work on the DVD project with it and then transfer it to your Superdrive-equipped computer back home for burning.
well, that's a start in the right direction. but sooner or later, they're going to have to make some concessions to families that don't have easy access to a superdrive in a computer, but CAN afford to buy an external one to add to their setup.

I'm thinking that if this happens, it'll be in iLife '05. Either that, or by this time next year, all Apple computers will come with a DVD-R installed. After all, there is no G3.
by the way, i feel like i've been a wee bit too negative in all my posts, so lemme point out something david pogue demoed last night with leo on the screen savers on techtv... an imovie function that steve did NOT get to demo on stage...
export to bluetooth
seriously. it's there. you can export your imovie project to your bluetooth enabled handheld device, storage space permitting.

Yeah, I saw that too and was blown away. Seeing as iMovie can handle QuickTime files, it looks like exporting videos to the P8/900 just got a lot easier.
Red Lobster? Do those places actually exist? I've never seen one in my entire life. Maybe there just aren't any in NH or MA?
There was a Red Lobster right next to the Pheasant Lane Mall up until about a year or two ago. It was just over the edge of the NH/MA border on the MA side, across the highway from Outback. I think it was only in business for about a year. Not long at any rate. The place turned into what's now Smokey Bones BBQ and Sports Bar.
