I'm trying it out right now. Fast and some nifty features. I'll post more later. I can't post with it though... :/

    Tab is done loading.

    Easy access to them:

All good and nice, but same broken unicode as in 4.5. Why Omni broke their wonderful unicode support after 4.2 is beyond me.

It's probably broken by Apple since Omni started using WebCore in 4.5.

Aside from being very, very beta (unstable as hell, a bit slow), it's a very fine browser. It'll be the best when they iron out the stability issues.

Yes, I'll have to agree. For a beta, it's not half bad.

It is, though, painfully slow compared to the other browsers (Safari, Camino), but it appears to be a caching/image loading problem.

I'll probably post some videos of it later (namely the whole tab thing).

Just probably, since Unicode works much better in Safari. How Apple manage to do it correctly and Omni not?

I hope it is because of the beta status, since, with the exception of unicode, it looks like it's going to be the best browser out there.

um, for me, it's twice as fast as safari 1.1. apple.com loaded like a bat out of hell for a heavily visited site without any caching yet.

It's doing strange things with cookies on my site. I can log in and the cookie is set, but when I go back to a page I wasn't initially logged in on, it pretends like I'm not. If I reload, it works fine. Must be a caching thing.

okay, scrap that... now it won't load image on apple's site AT ALL. it seems there are some caching issues to be hammered out.

and now a hang and force quit.... well, they DID warn about this in the notes before downloading.

I'm a devoted Camino nighly user, but this is a very promising browser. I don't understand why they insist on not allowing the user to launch the app and have a blank browser window open automatically...I can kludge it by having it open the home page and set the home page to be blank, but then I have no home page for use at other times.

Other than that and the usual beta issues, it looks nice. I'll wait this one out awhile and let them build it some more.

Mmm, workspaces are handy, especially for online price hunting, eBay, etc.

I'm very impressed with the feature set of OmniWeb 5, though I couldn't get any of the RSS stuff to work. Unfortunately it is so amazingly unstable that I can't use it for more than a few moments. I look forward to being able to use it full time, though, as soon as it's finished.

It's pretty nice for a beta. I'm used to other betas? (like the Public Beta?)

What I really don't like are the icons. I think they're a little bit inconsistent. But the rest is really nice. It has yet to crash on me. I like the tab feature, but I don't know if I'm going to use it. Also Workspaces? they're nifty.

Just spit & polish, and this is going to be the best browser for Mac OS X.

Please do NOT post this on other forums. I don't have bandwidth to feed millions of visitors.

if it helps any, they said they will be making icon packs open source and theme-able (i think this was done in direct response to the fact that they couldn't make everyone happy... welcome to graphic design).
