Indeed. My mom, for instance, used to do that all the time. Then when she was back in a file manager, she asked me all the time "wait, is this *single-click* now?"

Marc Andreessen should be made to write batch systems in IBM COBOL for the rest of his life. That man did more to compromise and defeat the Web than anyone else I can think of.

    Al Gore?

back when i first hit the web, and i considered myself plenty savvy, i double clicked links. back in those days, it would take a long time to get to the next page, and i didn't notice for a while that only single clicking was required. the reason i did notice was when i wsa trying to select a link, and i kept getting tossed around. confused me for several minutes. i remember, quite distinctly, thinking "how am i supposed to pick up just that underlined deal?" later, i was introduced to control-clicking by a friend, and the world became a different place. uninterestingly enough, in ie4win here at work (and presumably on other browsers on other systems), right clicking a link, then not selecting a menu item, selects the damned thing. how backwards is that? answer: very.

Even famous people with websites think you double click on links. heh heh

If you haven?t gotten a chance to hear it, you need to turn up the volume on your computers and double-click on the link.
