Nope, no 99 on the roster. Try another number...you mustve been thinkin of a futbol player
Its people like you who get on my nerves. "Hey guys we won!!" like you f-ckin play for the team or somethin You didnt win, the Duke basketball team won. This goes for all the dumbasses out there who commonly refer to themselves as part of a professional or college sports team.
You're not even a fan......you are some rich foreign kid who is now attending Duke. You probably never even heard of the Final Four before you came here, the only ball on the concrete for you was one being kicked around. "What is the basketball be playing here? Oh they are good I shall cheer" What a clown.
bah... duke spoiled my picks. well, not really cause i made a few bad calls that affected the rest of my brackets (like Maryland ). but hey, i got 2/4 final four picks right, which is way better than i usually do.
I hate Duke...But their basketball program is I think the best.
They have the best players/student athletes. At least their players go to 'practice'. and going to practice will make your teammates better..hahahaha...
I grew up watching Tommy Amaker and Johnny Dawkins but I couldn't stand Christian "cheap shot" Lattener...
So your NCAA tournament bracket is shot to pieces. You had Kentucky, Stanford, Gonzaga, Mississippi State or some upstart (uh, Wisconsin) and now your pool pick-sheet is worth as much as a Dominican baseball player's birth certificate. But there are still two more weeks to go, so now who do you root for?
Easy. You root against Duke, for that program and its head coach are ? and we don't think we're in any way exaggerating here ? the epitome of all that is evil.
Oh, but you're confused? You thought this was the sainted Mike Krzyzewski (pronounced ARRO-GANT PHONY), who runs the cleanest program in America, whose basketball players are also Nobel laureates who spend their spare time reading to the blind and turning water into wine (and not just wine, but Chardonay). Well then you've spent too much time listening to the national media, which props up and adores Duke, led by ESPN and Dick Vitale, who often has to wear a slobber bucket around his neck when calling Blue Devils games.
The truth is a little more gray. You'd know that if you spoke more to the local media outlets in North Carolina, whom Krzyzewski doesn't speak to except for league-mandated conference calls or if you spoke to Atlantic Coast Conference referees, who for years have endured Krzyzewski's often-profane and abusive verbal barrages. Funny how they aren't played up like they are for his current main rival, Maryland's Gary Williams, or Coach K's mentor, Texas Tech's Bob "I invented five curse words last week" Knight.
Or you could speak to Pete Gaudet, who for years was the third assistant at Duke, earning upwards of $12,500 per year. Then during the 1994-95 season Coach K underwent back surgery and decided conveniently to take the entire year off as his team went 13-18. Once he returned The Sainted One fired Gaudet and later petitioned the NCAA to have all but three of those losses charged to Gaudet's record and not his own.
Now, you often hear about all the wonderful Duke student-athletes, like Shane Battier and Christian Laettner, the latter of whom of course never heard of marijuana until he got to the NBA. But you never hear about what many Blue Devils players major in, sociology, which a few years ago the Duke student newspaper (the student newspaper!) exposed as having several fairly fraudulent gimme courses.
What you did hear last week from Krzyzewski, as his Duke team is now alternately the most loved and hated in the country, is whining. Last week he complained to writer (and Duke alum) John Feinstein that his players, ahem, "face a kind of hatred that college kids shouldn't face. It's one thing to root for your team to win, it's another thing to root for a favorite to lose. It's gone way beyond that with us." OK coach, examples? Please? There aren't any that cross the line. The Impervious One just has a thin skin, something the back surgery apparently didn't fix.
Krzyzewski went on to rant that officials are being unfair to his team because they're intimidated by others saying Duke gets the benefit of calls. This season, Krzyzewski is apparently angry officials have only called 82 more fouls on Duke's opponents. Kentucky, by comparison, was called for 18 more fouls than its opponents this season.
Look, Duke is the No. 1 basketball program in America, bar none. Most of what it does is right, admirable and to be lauded. But it's not the only winning program in America doing things right and deserving of such recognition. And right now, with a whiny, sniveling coach, Duke is the least deserving of a fourth national championship.
Vitale like Billy Packer is a bigtime blowhard and a fraud...his 'diyaper dandeee' junk was funny a looong time ago but now it's just annoying. did they all come from the brent musburger school of broadcasting??

Did you see Packer's face when the interviewed Martelli after the game that sent St. Joe's to the elite 8? It was priceless. There was fear in his eyes and I was hoping Martelli would tell him off right there.
I guess the A-10 really made a statement this year, sending 2 teams to the elite 8. As many as the ACC and Big 12 and twice as many as the SEC or Big East. Big 10? HuH?
A-10 really isnt THAT bad and they proved it. There's a lot more parity nowadays in college ball. Xavier beat some big time competition this year and did one thing that always helps for the tournament......they got better as the season progressed. Of course you saw how good Chalmers and Sato can be, and they have a lot of other smart players too. I'm happy they did so well.....just wish they couldve went to the final 4, but Duke got handed the game by the refs. Those guys are all seniors too so they wont be back...but great job to them!!!!! No one gave XU a snowballs chance in hell against Duke, and they played them straight up.
If that wasn't the best semifinals in Final Four History, then I haven't been following college basketball since John Wooden's last championship.
Two incredible games, with two cardiac-level final finishes.
Gotta disagree with you on the UConn-Duke game. Great finish and I'm certainly glad my team won but the refs kind of screwed this one up. All game long there were bad calls and non-calls against both sides. This COULD have a been a truly memorable game but it was hard to establish a flow with the whistle being blown every time you turned around. More to the point, when it was blown, frequently BOTH players would turn around because NOBODY knew who the call was on! Too bad. Glad for the win but too bad the game was called so poorly.
Nope, no 99 on the roster. Try another number...you mustve been thinkin of a futbol player . . . .
Why are you being a prick? I'm from DC and when the Redskins win I think it's generally acceptable to say "we won."

Why do I get this "I am black, therefore I know what basketball is and you don't" vibe? The only bigger vibe I get out of you is the "I'm a suburban wealthy kid who wasn't born as rich as I would have liked." soulcrusher's family is rich, so it seems. Big f-ing deal. I don't think there's much he could do about that. Even so, it's a gift. As for being a basketball fan, basketball is played in many nations. Furthermore, he goes to Duke. He has every right to support his school's team. I don't see why that's so hard for you to understand.
If Princeton somehow made it to the final four, you can bet your ass I'd be cheering, even though I think basketball is a pansy sport. If you have a problem with that you can contact the new Department of Fan Purity (DFP) and turn in my name.
Fairweather fans just irritate me...I mean I doubt he really cares about basketball at all, I've never seen him in one of these posts before. I also do get annoyed with the whole "we" thing...pretty stupid. And I'm not from the suburbs.
Anywayz....
Monumental choke job by the Dookies
I won't be repeating as Pick Em champ....a couple of you have UConn going all the way. Arrrghhh Bynum screwed me over too, I had Oklahoma St. vs UConn in the final, they shouldnt have lost to GT but wre outplayed last night
