Now.

This could be a kook, but I doubt it.

As expected, the success of the bombing of the Spanish commuter train was a Eureka moment for the Islamic terrorists. These guys have decided to extort other nations.

Reading it is kind of reminiscent of the infamous 'Atta will' which also was not recognisably (orthodox) Islamic in tone, content or religious imagery.

Having said that, there could be some whacko cults out there so who knows ?

You have said it all. The authorities doubt , that this letter come from real terrorists, but take this threat seriously.

why they doubt of the reality of this letter. Several reasons :

    - normally there is more than just one letter

    - there is sourates in it : here there is just some characters that appears of the front page of the Quran

    - there is a particular stopper print : no trace here. This stopper print allow the police to authotentify the source.

For the record, when the plane of egyptia crashed, some people claimed that they made a terrorist attack to punish France because of the law against the veil in public school. Now we know that the crash was the result of a technical problem (autopilot dysfunction) mixed with bad human decisions.

If i have understand well, most terrorist groups use a particular and unique stopper to print a mark of authentification on the letters they send to the authorities or the media. This is a sort of signature if you want.

Would the American people vote against Bush if another terrorist attack happened before the election or would they be more willing to vote for him? I don't know if a terrorist attack here would necessarily have the same political effect in the U.S. as it did in Spain.

So if a terrorist attack is said to have lead to Spain pulling its troops out of Iraq, will a terrorist attack in France cause France to pull its troops out of...France?

It's more and more obvious that Al Quaeda hydra did the bombing in spain. The Aznar governement pushed hard on the ETA thesis, saying that they where absolutely sure of their guiltyness. Even policemen where pissed by this false propaganda, and delivered some infos.

Spanish people did not appreciate this attempt of manipulation, and voted against them.

I am convinced that if the spanish gov said that they ignored for the moment who commited the crime, they will not have loose the election.

If spanish people where pussies, wether the crime was commited by ETA or Al Quaeda, they will have surrendered (traduction they will have voted against Aznar anyway).

Good question, but France faced a wave of bombing ten years ago by islamists. France did not pulled it's troops out of France, they just caught the terrorists and killed one of them who did not wanted to surrender.

Someone somewhere is obviously manipulating public perception of these terrorist and accidental events and wishing to paint a picture of an ever-present Islamist threat.

As yet we do not know whether it is Islamists or anti-Islamists or someone else who is doing this but we do know it is happening. And of course someone is responsible for the terrorism - we don't know who that is either.

I don't know what is going on but for sure we aren't getting the big picture and it isn't as black and white as some people like to think.

Hey, it could be that Jose-Luis Rodriguez Zapater planned the attacks so the Socialists would win. He looks like the Anti-Christ, no? Enigmatic? Popular?

Well gee....that makes a lot of sense. France has opposed most of our actions in the WOT, and actively campaigned against us in the UN on the Iraq issue. How would Bush be the cause of France being threatened?

Good to know you know what you're talking about down to the exact spelling of Mr. ZAPATERO's last name. I love it when people just talk out of their butts. Love it.

    1. It was tongue and cheek

    2. I left out an "o" big whoop. Blame Apple Safari's developers for shitty text selection. I cut and pasted it from CNN (no, I don't commit Spain's leaders names to memory, sorry, they are irrelevant to me thus far).

So irrelevant you're actually reading about them?
