I ordered on April 22, with shipment on or before April 28, and it shipped out today, April 26.

Order on Thursday, it ships on Monday. Not too bad for Apple Canada.

I paid for the quicker shipping option, so I should have it either Wednesday or Thursday.

Did you you order after their office hours on the 22nd or did it get into the system that day? i ordered 04/22/2004 05:51 PM PST, so I'm guessing thats actually like ordering on the 23rd. Oh well. *edit* i just noticed that i ordered same day or one day after you, but my shipping date is 2 days later than you... weird.

Two day is guaranteed on the 2nd day. It ships out Monday, next day, then 2nd day (Wednesday) you'll get it. It's amazing how they do that--your PB could ship from Asia or Europe, and they still make it in on the 2 day. Congrats! I'm very jelous. Mine will ship on or before the 30th (Friday). Hopefully they are ahead of schedule.

I ordered a 25" 1.5 PB yesterday, loading up on everything except memory - just 512 on one stick. Was told that shipping time was now 1 - 2 days.

On upgrading VRAM - you have to do it when you order or you're stuck with what you have, unless you want to pay a fortune later. I bumped the VRAM and HD before anything else!

The other option I feel is important is Apple Care for 3 years. My new PB is replacing an old 667 15" PB and Apple Care has more than paid for itself over the last 2 years.

    Happiness is a new Mac!

You got a 25" powerbook? When did those come out???

The VRAM is only "upgradable" at time of purchase. I say "upgradable" because you're really getting a different video card. You can't add VRAM in the way you add normal ram. You're stuck with what ya got. So it's good you upped it.

Hey! I think i heard about those... apple only made like 10 of them, and each one was like $5500. They were a little big, but certainly not too large to be portable. Man... wish I had a 25"...

Actually, I got my 15" PB today. It's absolutely gorgeous, and I'm going to run xbench right now. Anyone want?

    Specs:

    1.5Ghz

    512MB DDR333 SODIMM

    128MB VM

    80 GB HD 5400 RPM

Will the upgraded 128MB VRAM make my PB faster in showing footage in showing footage from my miniDV camera? clearer?better quality.

What programs will it make run smoother? FCP? DVDSP photoshop?

I just upgraded to the 5400rpm HDD and the 128VRAM cos it was cheap and worked out to $70 after all my discounts.

Anyway if someone could enlighten me that would be great!

    Thanks

er, sorry about the 25" - was still a bit excited about actually ordering the PB - which will ship before Monday.

Maybe SJ will help me out here and announce a 25" for the PM this summer . . .

It should, on the Apple Online Store site a BTO Powerbook is quoted as 1-3 days shipping.

My 15" beauty arrived this afternoon. A bit late, but at least it's here before the weekend. Nothing will be broken in random fits of rage in the garage now. *phew*

Pretty slick machine! It almost feels like a 17"er to me, since my last few laptops have been little 12" dudes.

    Life is good.

My BTO 15" PB was ordered Wednesday, shipped this early morning and is scheduled for delivery by Monday.

The "little extras" (wireless keyboard & mouse, iSight and APP) are already here.

The only thing that will be "slow" is the extra battery, which is scheduled to ship by 5/5.

Apple is moving orders out the door rather fast and FedEx ain't slow either - especially as I chose FREE delivery and the PB is coming from China.
