Yes, the "guts" are housed in the vertical "slab" block behind the display (minus the optical drive, which is up front of course, along with a power button, USB, FireWire and maybe a headphone jack).
This offers a couple of things the other design concepts lack-- swivel-ability and most of all, stability. That would be much harder to knock over than most of the things mocked up so far. Most likely, everyone is going to be off-base to some degree, but I like the thinking behind that one.
The idea of duplicating the iPod/Dock relationship for a desktop computer is a very good one, (especially from a marketing viewpoint) but a 20" portable tablet? I don't think so.
12" max for a tablet which would make it a separate product, not the new iMac.
Pscate design is nice, but lack of ergonomy. It take a lot of place with the rear protuberance (as much as a CRT screen) and the screen is fixed. What a regression compared to the I mac LCD.

Actually, you're wrong on both.
That back part (the "fin") pooches back less than an eMac. But goes back enough to provide a nice solid "T" base for the thing to stand on.
The screen most certainly is NOT fixed. Read my original post on this two pages back in this thread. If you look at that rear view, you see where that part that connects to the display is jointed. You have a Cinema Display-type pivot cylinder for up/down tilt, then the piece that is mounted to swivels left-to-right.
It's not fixed at all: total up/down/side-to-side motion.

here is my design based on current apple trends
and it would be made of the new material apple announced
That Sony thing is suddenly starting to look good.
Er, sorry, I think I just prolapsed a minor organ.
the reason that it is all in the back is because its also a portable notepad computer aswell and based on the already award winning design of the ipod
just alot bigger and dockable with the keyboard mouse and speakers or you can pluck it out of its dock and use a stylus to move to mouse around
this would be gound breaking for apple and what a way to celebrate the 20th year
Hi Paul
