I was not suggesting it was probable (although Cisco has done just that over the last 6 years). In order to maintain 33% growth, Jobs would have to pull a lot of rabbits from a hat - but it has been done before in other industries.

Microsoft has 4 times the revenue of Apple, we are not talking about a huge lead here, btw.

Actually more likely is that Microsoft revenue drops, and Apple passes them as a result. I don't see how Microsoft can maintain the current revenue with so many mice nibbling at their toes (the biggest of which is foreign governments starting to use Linux in order to reduce cost and prevent US government back-doors into their code).

A good model for the future of Apple is the current Sony, which has 70 Billion in revenue - either Apple will get that big or else go out of business.

Well, you and I are both decendants of the flatworm, and so are all the birds. I'd say that your condition has already been met.

4 times is a lot, especially measured in dozens of billions.

Meanwhile Microsoft's revenue grows. It's far from dropping. Even if they screw it up, such a big company can buy half of the planet before they start actually bleeding money.

Doom and gloom? Heh. There are thousands of companies which never even dreamt of such revenues, but that doesn't make them go out of business.
