From Macminute:
Apple today announced a new Spring line of iMacs, a new 17-inch widescreen model featuring a 1 GHz PowerPC G4 processor and 133 MHz system bus; 256MB of Double Data Rate (DDR) memory; a faster 4x SuperDrive for playing and burning CDs and DVDs; and internal support for AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth, for US$1,799. The new 15-inch flat panel model features an 800 MHz G4 processor and is now priced at $1,299. Apple also announced lower pricing on its line of eMac consumer and education computers, dropping the prices of the 700MHz model to $999 and the 800MHz model to $1,299. iMac and eMac desktops are available immediately through the Apple Store, Apple retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers.
Edit: First note - no L3 cache on these iMacs.

Still too expensive.
These prices aren't bad, but i was really hoping for a sub-1000 iMac.
Still overpriced
The high-end has more RAM, Airport Extreme built in, Bluetooth Built in, but that's it ... sorry, but that price point stinks.
The $1799 is still high IMHO, but then again, I'm not in charge
Oh well, the wait continues ...
Guess I'll keep chugging away with my PBG4-500.
Underwhelming to say the least ...

The $1799 doesn't have the airport extreme or blue tooth modules, you still have to buy those separately. Only the $2400 model has these pre-installed.
Quick question: Did the prior iMacs' graphics cards use DDR memory or SDR? I can't remember.
There is now no 'mid-range' option, they have removed the 15' Superdrive system. To be honest, I preferred them as they were.

Anyone else notice that Apple now has 4X DVD-R media listed (19.95 5-pack)? Were these around before today?

They've been available since the 28th.
All I think is that there should be a 17" with a combo drive for like $1499 - 1599.

OMG that would be so nice... I'd prob have my parents get that for themselves in a minute. As it stands now... eh I'm not sure.
I would say the $1299 model is a disappointment.
But the $1799 model has some nice additions (at least I think these are new):
- 4x Superdrive
- 64MB graphics
- DDR memory
- 133Mhz bus
- s-video/composite out (with adapter)
- audio line-in
- possibility to add internal bluetooth / airport extreme

How do they want to 'push' this technology if it's available only on few models?

No FW800, either...

Agreed. Apple isn't very confident in FW800. Even 1 port would be nice.
