    Apple got screwed in the last week by those two breakthroughs. I haven't seen any breakthroughs like this in a few years. I guess you can only keep things under the lid for so long before they become apparent.

    OTOH, it could mean a nice order for Freescale from Apple. I don't know if that's A Good Thing or not.

    or if they'll go ahead and give us a QuadraMac right from the start.



    I'm sure those who purchased the first G5 single processor towers

    IMO, the release of the PPC 970 GX will not be a big surprise. A bigger L2 cache and some minor improvements like more cache locking options and al, is an easy way, but efficiant way of increasing the efficiency of a chip.



    There was already a G3 GX, why not a G5 GX.



    I mean a PPC 970 with 1MB of cache giving a typical 5% boost is not an eart shattering new.
