One reason that there's no MS BT Mouse driver is that only 10.2.4 supports BT pairing without keycodes; the MS BT mouse has no keycode therefore only 10.2.4 can pair with it. An update to the HID will be here quite soon as there's very little coding to do.
What makes Bluetooth mice so cool? Am I missing something? Is it just the fact that it's Bluetooth?

the fact that it is using a standard wireless connection... this way you can get some usefulness out of the used USB port in addition to the mouse... if you had a proprietary connection you would not be able to do that.
This is that little Kensington mouse. The receiver rotates so you always get it out of the way, and it stows inside the mouse itself. So it truly has no cords. The only problem is that the lack of an integrated charging station means that you have to either buy batteries or buy a charger for charging your batteries.
I ditched my MX700 today, I'm trading it for a pair of MS Intellimice (wired). I loved the MX700, but even with the integrated charging station, it was way too much of a hassle.
I think I'll stay with wired mice and keyboards now. They are the way you interface with your computer, you can't do anything without them, and cords are more reliable than batteries.
Come to think of it, I doubt I'll own anything that uses bluetooth for at least five years. Maybe never. It seems like a novelty to me, with too many limitations. KISS... USB is better.
KISS applies to Bluetooth: no USB used, no reciever. Just the mouse. I'm still on the lookout for cool BT mice but it looks like I'll end up buying the M$ mouse!
Well, that is quite a cool mouse and if they make a bluetooth version I will certainly consider it... although the current version has only a 3 foot range... is this average? It seems pretty poor to me

I'm still on the lookout too... something I have been interested in since bluetooth was first announced. However I have seen the Microsoft mouse and it just seems too large for me. I am a portable junkie through and through and so I would like a bluetooth mouse that is built for the traveller: small.
Apparently it's Apple's fault, otherwise the M$ mouse et al would work? I'll ask Apple while I have them on the phone tomorrow...I have manyyyyyy questions about my PB and it's fscking NVIDIA problems..
So let me get this straight. Their are no Bluetooth mice for macs now.
what are you all talking about

I might be wrong about this (someone out there correct me if so: I know you will ) but I was under the impression that Apple had upgraded its Bluetooth software in 10.2.4 which allows people (at least theoretically? in reality?) to use the Microsoft Bluetooth mouse. But earlier versions of X won't work. Can anyone confirm this?
It is my understanding that as of now OS X does not support HID(human input device) over the built in bluetooth and even if you wanted to use the microsoft mouse with its external adaptor it doesn't have dirvers for OS X yet.

VERY TRUE!!!!
Look at this pic of how my PC setup was...
Notice the Microsoft Bluetooth mouse with the little "tooth" transmitter on the desk?
When I found it did not work on OSX I took it back.
I would NOT buy that mouse.. It worked very very poor on my Sony Vaio PC running XP
IT had an awful lag and it did not work worth a flip.
I love my logitech with its cord. Nothing seems to work as well as it.
I thought it would be "cool" to have the wireless Bluetooth by microsoft but the sync with the receiver was simply sloppy and the thing had poor poor poor performance. It went back to Best Buy.
Lag as in the first time you move it when it's been "sleeping" or just in general? That would be horrible but I don't mind when my Logitech saves power by blinking overnight.
Any other Bluetooth mice besides M$? I'm still waiting for Logitech or better yet...Apple to get their act together on wireless peripherals.

It had lag always. Even during the course of moving it around it would glitch. I can tell you I would not even bother with the MS mouse.
I was at a neighbors house a week ago and they have a wireless Logitech mouse. (not Bluetooth) and it worked very well. It really had no problems at all.
I use my corded Logitech mouse and I love it. One thing I have noticed about Logitech mice in general is that the plastic glider pads on the under side do a much nicer job of letting the mouse glide like butter compared to other mice I have used that are rougher when moved.
I think Logitech has done a fine job of perfecting the mouse.
Thanks for that link Forcelite but I still can't find BT mice besides M$. You're right Fellowship I think Logitech has perfected the mouse. How cool will it be when they come out with a BT mouse!!!
Still waiting for Logitech BT mouse or M$ drivers that actually work for the M$ mouse. I hear 10.2.5 makes it work but you can't assign the extra buttons, they just mirror a left click. Dayammmmm hurry up Apple/M$/Logitech. All this stupid crap with phones how much people use that and how important is SMS or whatever. Just plug in your phone. BT mice is the first practical use I can see for BT and it applies for all future Apple laptops since I bet the iBook will be getting it soon. Eliminating my RF reciever would be niiiiiiiice for carrying my PB around.
if 10.2.5 supports the ms mouse then thats what I am going to get. I will wait til someone verifys this however. I but panther will help with compatibility too. Hey at least apple is listening to its customers and supporting what we feel is needed. Also Bluetooth should be in everything. PDAs, cell phones, mp3 players, printers. It will be great to have a wireless standard to connect devices. Japan has already put bluetooth in alot of things, such as the above and aibo.

For the person who asked if you could use more than one bluetooth item at once the answer is yes, up to 7 at once
