Tiger and Software Update: How many Tiger users are not getting all the updates?

Both my computers (running Tiger) still have not shown the update for iTunes 4.8 and DVD Player 4.6.

What is more curious is that I booted up using my old 10.3.9 Panther image and it announced the 4.8 update immediately! I booted up before the DVD player update was posted so I don't know about that one.

Are other Tiger installs experiencing the same problem? Are Panther users? let's have it already.

Neither new app showed up in Software Update for me. Rather than bitch and moan about it, I downloaded both from Apple's website. They are both and installed and working fine on my computer.

iTunes said the same thing to me tonight when I fired it up for the first time, but I told it that I would update later. Unfortunately, I do not know when it will ask me again. I have rebooted once and reloaded iTunes, but it did not ask. Maybe tomorrow.

No DVD Player 4.6 or Pro App Support 3.0 here, but the "Intermediate Codec" showed up. No iTunes 4.8 as well - so I installed this manually.

New PM with Tiger preinstalled, btw.

This would seem like some sort of "Software Update "bug. To those who thinks it's no biggie: If software update stops working properly that would mean a LOT of people missing out on updates, some of which may be critical. So I hope it's fixed soon.

yes, i certainly don't seem to be getting ANY updates listed by software update and it's a mighty pain getting them all manually!

    bug?

    same problem here.

a truckload of updates to install (iphoto/keynote/pages/dvdplayer/Intermediate Codec/itunes etc) and software update says: "your software is up to date".

    well, not so.

Software Update only let me know about the iPhoto update, which rapidly installed without any problems.

On my freshly formatted iMac SU says nothing needs to be updated. So I had to download and install everything manually. Just sort of odd that so many people aren't seeing things in the Software Update prog.

To add my voice to the chorus, no software updates for me either.

Sure I can to the site and download them, the whole point of Software Update is to not have to do that.

I have Tiger on my iBook and Panther on my iMac and I haven't been getting these software updates on either system. I don't think this is a Tiger bug, folks... it appears to be something going on at Apple.
