this is true... M$ looking at apple for "ideas" because apple is by far superior over MS... the only thing i used windows for anymore is for games... mostly b/c i dont feel like going out and buying all the games that i have for windows to get for mac... so saving myself some money in that regard... however... other then games, MS is out of my life and apple is in.... ive even pondered about an apple mini despite the fact i have an imac g5, why would i go get a mac mini? well... i got my reasons... ive postd them in another thread; current hardware i believe w/ a thread relating to an upgrade for the mac mini

ROFLMAO it seems like everyone is so ashamed to use the words Apple PowerMac G5 in all the gamer-focused website coverage of e3 and the new consoles

More on this from another website with more pictures here.

Ha! It's almost too funny for words. How on earth did they think that they can get away with it?

What are they going to do, plaster the booth with "this demo is running on an apple mac"? they have no need to explain themselves - the architecture is closest to what the x-box will be and since the 360 is still only at alpha stage hardware they have every right.

All this anti-microsoft crap is getting boring. I hate bill gates and windows as much as the next guy, but I cannot deny the new xbox and xbox live is a great product. Better, even, than the ps3 in my view. In the end its about my entertainment. just because i hate microsoft doesn't mean i'm going to support sony (or any other multi-national billion dollar corporation) instead. they are all as bad as each other - even apple. \

An interestign article on IGN has Ms specs that seem to be far superior to PS3, which is very revealing. That is until you realize that the whole article is a Microsoft PR-saving tactic that is actually a cut and paste MS email to IGN. Seriously! They even have a disclaimer at the top of the article.

MS got whooped at E3 by Sony.

Nintnedo showed nothing other than the look of the new console.

It seems that Ms has made a big mistake going so early.

I suspect that Nintendo will have the best hardware when all is said and done.

While the CPU(s) will only be slightly more powerful than 360, the GPU is far more powerful as it contains a ton more embedded RAM.

The specs can change for all of the consoles and MS can afford to change their specs this close, while Sony and Nintendo were most likely gauging the competition. Nintneod is in the best position as no one knows what they have.

I think nintendo took a play form the Apple book with secrecy and sleek style.

Nintendo has always had the best hardware until the GCN and that was only because MS was a surprise entry and came out right after. GCN is a good measuer more powerful than PS2. I think they desire to have the most powerful hardware this gen too. Add to that a revolutionary (hopefully not to the exclusion of 'normal') control scheme and you have a recipe for success.

MS needs to stick with Excel and let Apple handle computers and nintendo handle games.

Eh. I just don't like the fact that they're not upfront about it. Of course, it being microsoft makes it even better. And yes - if the games are running on PowerMacs, than they should say so and put them in full sight. A bit of honesty is never boring. \

You make it sound like they're hiding the boxes. They sold NT for PPC for years, why would they hide this now? Generally vendors at tradeshows don't showcase hardware that isn't their own in the kiosks. Since the box wasn't on display, everybody knew it wasn't running on a 360.

Much has been said of the Mac mini being the trojan in the living room. However, you'll need third party equipment and much tinkering for it to be a true media device for the living room. Xbox 360 is the real trojan! Whether it works as it claims as a media device is questionable. After all its windoze. But MS has a box in the living room. Where's apple's? This is where apple should shine. Making all the AV equipment, networking and mac mini plug and play with each other. MS has leaped ahead in the living room space.
