Im gonna have to see the vista "sidebar" in action instead screenshots to see if it apes the osx dock... just by looking at it though, I imagine it does...whether or not MS developed it first or if Apple did, or maybe someone else did, the fact remains that Apple executed it first into the OS and MS is clearly being unoriginal and copying it.
I don't remember anything before the dock from NEXTSTEP (actually, OS X's daddy). So Apple took it from NeXT, but then again S. Jobs was Apple's child. Ooops, one of Apple's fathers. Too many relatives here .
Sorry if this has been posted already. A nice comparison.
Actually, the comparison is really poor since most of arguments that he gives are very nebulous. And in those rare times when he actually tries to give a complete example, he is totally wrong... at least as far as Windows XP/ Vista is concerned.

For such comparisons (not Vista yet), there is also the xpvsx site. You may agree or disagree with the results of such comparisons, but there is it with all the details.
That PCvsMac site (not XvsXP) is such garbage. It's conclusions are always something along the lines of, "There's basically no reason to ever get or use a Mac? ever." or "The 2% are wrong yet again." XvsXP on the other hand is actually a good site.

A) Put the applications folder into your Dock.
C) Use something third-party such as Quicksilver.
