Back in reality...

1. New iLife with a version of iPhoto thatdoesnt look like a steaming pile of crap when compared to Picasa, and a new app, no idea what tho.

2. iWork, something new, dont know or care.

3. ipod. something new, again, dont have any idea or really even care.

4. Mac Mini intel...

* 2.4-ish ghz, 1MB cache 800MHZ bus, and steve reveals that all of his demos were done with a redy-to-ship unit, shipment begins 2 weeks fron the show

5. Intel iBooks with 5 HRs of real world battery time

6. Formally inroduce the Motorola Razor with iTunes support for Cingular.

1. WTF? Picasa is garbage mate. iPhoto is awesome. seriously.

2. a decent Pages2.0 build, spiffify Keynote for Keynote3(incorporate some goodies from the iSteve Ultra edition build), and CELL. to eradicate microsucks once and for all from the apple mac.

3. hmmm, i got my ipod mini, but i AM curious about new ipods

4. good idea about steve doing his demo with a macintel mini. but we are looking at 667mhz bus speed and about 2.16-ish ghz dualcore yonah if they use that chip... there is no 2.4ghz yonah AFAIK. and it will come with 2mb cache, intel pentium Ms and yonahs don't have 1mb cache anymore AFAIK.

5. YES YES YES. make that 6 hours (that means advertised as 8 hours on apple website)

i definitely like iPhoto 5's overall functions. and the rock solid stability (maybe i am luckier than some???) ...the picasa slideshow giftCD function playable on (almost?) any PC is really really nice though...

I must have misunderstood what "mockup" means so I will try again.

I was under the impression sunilraman was soliciting graphical representations of people's impressions for expected products. His "photoshopping" remark certainly points to that.

you guys are all funny. and i have still not seen one bloody photoshop mockup yet!!!

umm... do you realise iPhoto 5 has NEVER crashed on me? seriously. got about maybe 800 photos in it now, maybe that's why, you peoples with thousands and thousands may be having issues

i have also transferred photo libraries from like iphoto 4.0.1 to 5.0 and 5.0 to 5.0.1 or something like all that

thank you chucker and flounder, i thought i'd so some public service by starting this thread to have a centralised one-stop-shop for all the photoshopped goodies that normally starts to pop-up 1-2 weeks before a MAJOR mac event. currently, as we can see, my idea has not taken off yet

I like the color for the PowerBooks, but not the iBooks. It borders the screen nicely and is professional looking while still being stylish.

I am guessing "Quad Core" means dual processors which, space wise, seems possible in the 17", but then they would have to add two more memory slots. Apple could still have just two slots that support 2GB memory modules, if they exist, but then that puts the owner in an all or nothing situation where memory is concerned.

I'm not following your logic. First off, "Quad Core" means four cores, whether two cores each in two CPUs or four cores in one single CPU. Second, how does having two CPUs require two additional memory slot? Memory can be shared between CPUs just fine.

1) I thought any mockups on what might be shown at MWSF2006 is supposed to be realistic and since I have only heard of Intel having dual core chips then I assumed that meant two processors, and a laptop with dual processors would put it ahead of the competition.

2) The PowerMac G5 looks like each processor has four memory slots which is why (my thinking) the memory has to be paired (same number/size) so I thought that would be true of a dual processor laptop. I was just saying that if this was how memory worked and each procecssor only had one module each then we would have to replace memory instead of adding memory.
